I’m laying here in bed after having a back op/procedure and dreaming of my holiday to warmer climes and this got me thinking.
What’s everyone’s preferred choice of bedding in their Motorhome?
Whether it’s single beds, an island, transverse, over cab - wherever you lay your head, we all take some form of bedding with us.

We have a big double overcab bed but use two double sleeping bags - one each.
Both great in the cold but too thick and heavy in the heat.
Are we missing a secret and should consider changing?
So what do you use and why?

And since I’ve got time on my hands and still figuring out the brilliant forum update that Jim and his team have done, I thought I’d have a go at a poll (don’t mention Brexit :censored:)
Who knows, this may produce some interesting responses?

Happy voting and no proof of I.D or polling car required!

In fact I do differently according to the season but there's only one possible box to tick.

Actually I use sheet only in summer cause I like cotton, it's cool. But in full winter I put a duvet underneath the first sheet and then I have a sleeping bag which I don't always use as so , but just on top of me and unzipped, and then on top of it, a duvet.

I must add I never keep the heating on during the night. I warm up the motorhome just enough to feel alright before going to bed and then even if temp goes under 0 never mind I'm all cosy and warm!!

Just a sheet for those warm nights, a very light duvet, 4.5 tog, but feather and down, most nights.
If really cold a blanket on top.

None of the above. In our van a lit tout fait . Available at concessionaire français !

Over the years we have tries many covers and now use sleeping bags, not normally zipped, up just as a cover. Although the option to zip is there if we have a cold night

Fitted sheet underneath, duvet/sheet/nothing on top, depending on the temperature.

Fitted sheets under the duvet. We have them specially made to fit the two beds exactly. But our beds don't need to be assembled from a kit of cushions as some do. The mattresses are one single piece. :)

Double duvet folded in half, comfy and easy. Will probably swap to a fitted sheet and either flat sheet or lighter duvet for this trip, it being Hot in Foreign Climes. Thinking of buying lighter duvets though (I hate being cold)

Fitted sheet below. Lightweight duvet & a fake furry throw / snuggly buggly on top if it's winter. Just the duvet in spring and autumn. Just the duvet cover in summer with snuggly buggly as well if it's cold.

Sleeping bags in winter and just a cotton sheet over a fitted cotton sheet in the summer. If the nights are cool then a lightweight fleece blanket over.
Beds are one piece mattress and permenantly made up.

Sleeping bags, high tog in winter + bed socks + blanket + hat if necessary, in summer just a lightweight bag, my bones creak which is why they need a lot of talc in winter!

Switch duvets in and out, silk one for summer (wish HWMBO had let me buy king size), king size goose down jubbly for winter. Might borrow the sleep on the one you’re not using trick - though isn’t it a bit hot to sleep on a 13 tog duvet?

Well here's our non-vegan bedding set-up. I can't guarantee that no animals were hurt during the making of it. We are also keen winter and mountain campers, so our needs may differ from some others.

As we make the bed up on a daily basis (usually), it has to be quick and easy.

For the bottom layer we have a very thin mattress topper that is filled with feathers (duck presumably). This is enclosed in a white duvet cover, so looks like a sheet but has the advantage of a little more comfort and a little more insulation. It can be quickly folded and stowed away.

For the top layer we have a king-size Devon duvet. This is filled with British wool rather than artificial fibre. As such it is incredibly warm (don't see too many cold sheep), moulds itself around you and is very breathable, being a natural fibre. If the worst comes to the worst, wool even retains its insulating properties when wet and was a key component in combatting hypothermia before the invention of technical fabrics. Luckily we have not yet needed to test those properties -- could have done with it on a boat once, though, when the hatches let in water to the cabin.

If we are camping in the van well below zero we may also top things off with a hat (very fetching).

Now, if we are camping outside of the van in sub-zero temperatures, then things get more serious and we are talking Norwegian army sleeping bags that are good down to about -30c, but that's another story!

I suspect there is a whole new eBay store launching shortly ?. As initial advisor/marketing I will accept less than my normal agents fee of 20% though not in used nightwear ???

Ooh I’m interested to hear about getting your fitted sheets made to measure, who does that for you. I’ve been pondering making some but worry I’d make a mess of it!!

I like the John Lewis duvets which comprise two weights. One is 4tog, the other 9tog... you use each separately according to the weather then popper them both together for winter.

We tried made to measure fitted sheets but find the standard double fitted sheets fit fine. We carry a 4tog and a 14tog duvet according to weather. If very cold we have an electric underblanket which runs fine on inverter even though we have the heating on all night when cold. SWMBO feels the cold. If very hot we use a duvet cover with no duvet in it

Duvet & fitted sheets 13.tog winter
4 tog summer with a blanket if needed .

We have fixed bed so Dorma topper on my side then fitted sheets standard size just tucked in at tapered end. I have my favourite John Lewis pillow, OH has camping pillow as bed length is an issue. We then have duvets - I have goose feather and down as I’m fussy, OH has synthetic. Both are 4 + 9 tog.

Memory failure strikes and we are in France at the moment. We're back next week and I've set myself a reminder to dig out their name. Hopefully I can reply in a week's time. :)

Memory foam underneath (wrapped in fitted sheet) duvet over and just kick it off if gets warm, never got cold yet and we do several winter trips albeit in the UK only

I’m pondering what to take to Italy in a couple of weeks. Nothing, if the weather atm is anything to go by, but I’ve just realised I’ve no idea if it’s typical or not!

How long are you going for? The rain and storms don’t normally hit till September.

A nice red head

Only a month, so over peak summer. I think I really shouldn’t be taking anything warm, but I’ve camped for so long in the U.K. I’m not sure I can bring myself to be so unprepared!!!
