Right, thanks for the constructive answers and after a second look I have found it in the hand book and it does appear to be for an additional heater which is supposed to be located under the drivers seat but I can’t see one and with ours being captains seats would it be possible for it to be fitted or am I looking for something that’s not there?
Brian & Jo
Thank you Terry I will have a good look tomorrowNot all models were fitted with it, although as the switch lights up it ought to do something. Don't see how captains seats would cause any problems, the heater is beneath the swivel mechanism.
Can you actually see the heater or not?Mine (Chausson Allegro 97) has captains chairs and has the under seat heater fitted. The switch for it is identical to the one you have shown. Hope this helps.

That switch is genuine factory, not an aftermarket.... Unless of course Fiat etc have started fitting Alde heat exchanger units in the off chance the van may become a motorhome.....but I don't think so some how.I believe it's something to do with the Alde heat exchanger system. I have one of these switches on my Hymer but haven't played with it yet to find out what it actually does!
You won't need to see it Brian.... It controls a fan therefore its BLOWN AIR heating.... You'll feel it.Can you actually see the heater or not?
Thank you

You can see the heater. It fills the under seat space beneath the drivers seat. There are louveres on the rear of it. It is fairly efficient and does make the rear of the Moho warm as you drive. I presume it is heated by the same system as the cab heater. Can you actually see the heater or not?
Thank you

Have to agree just having the truma water heater on in my hymer and not the heating is keeping it warm at the minute ...the wardrobe in particular is very cosyOur ladt van, a Laika, had an extra fan heater under one of the bench seats in the lounge. This switch activated it but only when driving. Very noisy but it did make the rear quite warm for when you parked up. Our new Hymer does not have one but as it is significantly better insulated and has none of the draughts the old van had, it seems the extra heater is unnecessary.![]()
