Hi
My Elddis Autoquest has the usual 12V solenoid valve between the water inlet and the tank.
What concerns me is that it is always very hot to the touch, even if the system is not pumping or operating, ie. at rest.
Is this usual?
I would have thought the solenoid would only be live when working and therefore it would heat up a bit during operation.
Thanks

I thought Elddis had dumped the whale system a while back. How old is your van?
A permanently hot solenoid would also concern me (since i dont know how its supposed to work).
Richard n Ann have an Elddis so may be able to help.

The only water solenoid on our van is for the toilet as far as I know. Definitely isn't one on the water inlet.

Are you describing the valve that shuts off the incoming water when the tank is full?

On our 2012 Elddis Aspire there was a white box about 100 mm square that had the relay that controlled the solenoid valve.
the valve should only be live when the tank is full. The valve can sometimes be heard cycling on and off when driving as the water level rocks. Does the valve operate and actually stop the incoming water if using the hose, or stop the submersible pump?
