I have a whale submersible pump in a onboard tank every time we use the motorhome and move on to another site we have problem getting it working. I have to put my hand in the water tank and tap it several times and then it will eventually work after may attempts, has anyone had a similar problem?

Do you have microswitched taps or a pressure switch?
If a pressure switch is it set up correctly? Try adjusting it.

Yes we have a pressure switch and is adjusted correctly, I have spoken to an engineer at the dealership who says it is a common problem to have to tap the pump but I do not feel I should have to do this constantly

Do you travel with a full tank or an empty one?
I find that by keeping the tank so that the level keeps the pump submerged especially when travelling air does not enter the system and cause an air lock. Just had a four week tour of Germany and never had any airlock problems. Hope this helps.
