Hi folks
I don’t have much experience with these types of water heaters, so I’m not sure how repairable they are
Ours is leaking water from the gas exhaust outlet …
Does anyone have any experience with these or have had a similar fault … any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

Could it be condensation from the combustion process, assuming that is the outlet from the combustion chamber / chimney? Do you know where that tube runs to?

must admit. The word prototype jumped out at me

Yeah
That tube is the gas exhaust , it vents fumes
It drips even when the boiler is not running ,
When we fill the water tank, the water starts dripping ,

Useful info. Sounds like it needs a proper service, unless you are up for it yourself. May be as a simple as a seal or something more complex. Unfortunately you won’t know until it’s on a bench Or find a drip above it. hope it’s something simple and cheap.

leaking from there suggests that the water chamber was not drained over winter. So water froze and split the chamber. It will need dismantling and testing to see if it can be saved

Il take it off and have a look and hope it’s not a serious provoke

It’s definitely not a drip above unfortunately,
I would chance opening it up to have a look …
If it’s busted … surely I couldn’t make it worse 🤔

The combustion pipe should run downwards regardless to allow the condensation created to drain. Not run back into the heater.
