I'm an oldbie MH number 10
20 years ago we pulled up at a C&CC site with 2 small boys on the back seat towing a caravan.
Site Hitler said we were 8 mins early. I said no problem I'll wait.
Site Hitler said no. You must reverse back down the 1/4 mile twisty lane.
I said but the time I do that It'll be time to come in?
He said tough, get off the park site until its time.

Young haggers just agreed as the inlaws were there in their motorhome and I did not want to upset them.

We then vowed never ever to do anything ever again with this club.. been members of the CMHC ever since.

However, the grudge has ended, joined the CCC again and headed to Bakewell at their no facilities Site after a stressful day...

What's the longest you've held a grudge for?
still have it? Or have you let it go.

You can't unsee what you have seen; a grudge is the same! You may overcome you response to it but the grudge is still there.

British Gas - useless barstewards! About 25 years so far 🤣

Kept trying to bill, bully and threaten me for a gas bill that wasn’t mine.
They haven’t changed! I thought I was over the grudge with their uselessness (years ago) and when I bought my new house recently, they were the provider. Just as useless and incompetent ;). Changed as soon as I could.

39 years, sister-in-law, thought she could speak to Nick like she spoke to her father after he died. Soon put her right. She didn’t speak to me for years, I am civil when we see one another at family funerals once in a blue moon because I’m a grown-up. She sends Nick a birthday card each year but hasn’t sent a birthday card to any of our 3 children since her Mother died 18 years ago. She’s not a grown-up!

My wifes crazy aunt. She tried to get my wife to reveal her mum's will as she wants to be buried with my wifes grandmother and grandfather and there only one space left in the grave. I just said she ought to be told to get in there quick if she was that bothered. I blame it on her having religion.

Or it could just be the price of a new plot 🥴 send her an urn for Christmas and tell her you care about where she is planted too 😈😈

No it's definitely the religions and wanting the plot bit. She's done lots of bonkers stuff and falls out with everyone in the family even her son who is actually normal.

Both my wife and I are lucky, we have big families so can fall out with family members who we feel have treated us discourteously, and still have loads of other reli's left to speak to :giggle: .

For me basically if it starts with British I am suspicious.
1 bt blacklisted for a payment of £10 they said I had not payed even if hough I had paid it twice, showed them proof on there own headed paper ( 36 yrs ago) still hate them.
2 British gas dug my drive up and refused to make good. They said as it was on my property it was not there responsibility to make good ( 34 yrs ago). A solicitors letter and the truth made them come and make good.

3 British airways. Several times been put on the back seats next to the smelly loos and the door into the tail where the crew go for a nap ( noisey door banging all night), Fiji one and only ancient 747 was more comfortable than most of the ba flights I have taken. ( Over many yrs).
4 British Leyland need I say more, I think they were built with rusty British steel. ( Oh that's another one).

I had a bank account with NatWest from age 16 -17 ,no issues untill I was overdrawn one Christmas by about £5, for about 3 days ,in the late 70's..I received a letter to advise I was being charged £10 for being overdrawn. I phoned the bank and requested they reverse the charge ,I had been a good customer for 15 plus years ,first time ever overdrawn due to Christmas period wages had been paid in out of cinque with my outgoings.Thecmanager would not relent and basically told me it would teach me a lesson. I reminded him that I had been a good customer and that I could change bank's.He implied I wasn't that good a customer.
I transferred my account to the Halifax the following day and left £32 in the Nat west account.iys still there
I receive yearly paper statements ( it used to be quarterly) and I still have a couple of full cheque books .I don't know what it costs a bank to maintain an account but I think I have cost them more than my £10 charge.

I spoke to my sisters ex , she didn’t speak to me for five years because of that , 20 yrs later our relationship is still scarred by it though we are superficially “ over it “ , we are so not ! Families eh ?

I've had an account with Nationwide with 2p in it for around 35 years, Every year they send me a statement and two new cards that must cost about £20 to process.

I cannot now remember what they did to piss me off ....

This could have been me

Exactly the same happened to me, had a junior account, then a student account, then started work and stayed with Nat West. Went overdrawn by about £6 for I think it was 4 days and they hit me with a £10 charge and wouldn’t drop it. I left £11 in the account, still there 34 years later

Ireland. Spent a weekend in Dublin with a football team. We were racially abused the entire weekend. That was over 30 years ago. Would never go back.

Prefer a Vendetta to a grudge anytime,BUSBY,,

I have as Jack Charlton would say “a little black book”. It took 7 years but I got a certain motorhome dealer back.
There was a 'gentleman' in my industry, (not my company) who, it was fairly well known, kept 'a little black book'

At some point back in the late 70's or early 80's I must have been entered into the book,
I suspect I called up one of 'his' clients directly, (which is what all us trainees were encouraged to do)

By the late 80's I was still working in the same industry, but for a software company.
Our company had the mutts nuts top application for exactly what he did.

He blocked us selling the app to his company and instead went with the next best option (it was not even half as good)
Not only did this cost his company money, it also would have lost them money (with two commas!) over the next few years.

By the early 2000's I was then employed by the company that this 'gentleman' was still in, to clear up the mess left by the last IT company.

I promptly got in the app they should have had over decade before, by this point much updated.
I then spent two years with a small team of developers updating it further still.
The revenue went up considerably (as in 10's of millions per year!)

He fought tooth and nail over every change I made, I was eventually forced to get in a developer for 3 months to rewrite the old app (right down to fonts and colours and function keys) so that his version of the app would work with the modern version. He was the only user.

He finally retired in 2019, having kept the grudge going for at least 40 years.

I ran into him a couple weeks ago at an industry dinner, he has probably known me longer than anyone else in the room, he still refused to say more than a couple of words when I went to say hello.
