“ I’m a newbie”
Cornwall live reporting this tonight, maybe he knows something we don't?

Popular pub chain Wetherspoon’s is starting to plan for a reopening of its pubs and hotels in just over a month.

The company has announced that it will look to open venues 'in or around June'.

The chain has pubs and hotels across Devon and Cornwall.

Devon-based owner Tim Martin faced criticism during the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic for suggesting that pubs should stay open despite the COVID-19 threat.

Cheers !

Oh good! I've never been in one yet, but one of the things on this pensioner's bucket list to get thrown out of a Wetherspoons. (y)
You live in hope, once you have been in one and seen their normal cliental you will realise what a mammoth task you have set yourself. :ROFLMAO:

I don't know of any in North Cornwall. They are probably all in the wealthy area of the Golden Triangle....Truro, etc, etc. I thought the owner lived in the Bristol area. Maybe he has a second home in Devon?

Thankfully never been in one and hope and prayer that I never have to.

He said in or around June - but didn’t say which year.

Probably will be next year !!

Read somewhere on Google that pubs may reopen reasonably soon as they are a very British institution and way of everyday life but will have to restrict numbers at any given time.
Rumours bandied around customers will have to be limited to two or three pints to allow everyone a chance and would need regular registered door staff.
Maybe work in a quiet village pub but how the hell that would work in a busy nightclub is anyone's guess.

Every time I go in one (I'm 66) I feel like I'm going to be asked to prove I'm old enough to drink there such is the general age of their clientele! I do like them I have to say, slightly embarrasedly.

I love Wetherspoon pubs, good reliable selection of reasonably priced beer. Food good and served promptly. Most of their pubs are in interesting buildings with some architectural merit. The Winter Gardens in Harrogate are well worth a visit. Best thing is you meet very few self stylised superior people there, just salt of the earth folk who know a good thing when they see it.

Skipton one is a nice building too but yes Harrogate one is a beautiful building

I like them although the Scarborough one the toilets smell disgusting.
And to top it they put tables and chairs right outside the door.
Only times I ever went near the place was the annual company Christmas pub crawl and if I had to buy my own I would have gone straight to the next pub instead. .

Moon under water, deansgate Manchester is the only one I use.
Maybe twice a year I meet up with a few guys I used to work offshore with.

The place used to be an old cinema with a nice curved ceiling.
The architecture is really good.

Perhaps they could start selling beer.

Well there are some good pubs in Scabby, the golden ball on the front is a lovely pint of Sam Smiths handpulled for £1.62, beautiful, then right next door is the Anchor chippy, decent grub.

Northeastern nice drop too and the Angel but if you are on a budget the Golden Ball top of the list for great cheap hand pulled ale.

Mersey Tunnel is currently FREE to go through.
I knew that there had to be something positive about a deadly pandemic.
