I have seen on another thread that you can spray this patio cleaner on your motorhome roof to prevent and clean moss etc from it. Has anyone tried this. My fear is the chemicals might have an adverse effect on the skylights.

I have just done my drive and decking with patio cleaner and its basically glorified bleach, wouldn't use it on my van. Any aluminium and it may react with that also.
elbow grease and a scrub with a car cleaning brush with wash and wax is best.(y)

I suppose if the moss is really bad , as a trial you could try a small area with a sponge ( wearing gloves)first to see if it made a difference.

Have used Wet and Forget for a few years on drives and walls etc. Check their website to start with. I believe it contains no bleach or harmful chemicals. It works brilliantly on lichen and dirt etc BUT it doesn’t touch moss on my block paving.
Cheers

I use Patio Magic on the block paving (NOT on moho) which works fine, if a bit slow ... have you found anything to kill the moss?

I buy a large drum of similar stuff from farm supplier, cleans the drive a treat but wouldn't use it on the van. I think it's intended for cleaning cow sheds ,!
Basically bleach

If you are concerned about what it may contain ask for the COSHH data sheet

According to their website it does not contain any bleach.
Is Wet & Forget Safe?
A great big YES IT IS!!

Just keep children and pets indoors while spraying and until dry.

Subsequent rainfall poses no issues.

Wet & Forget is non caustic, non acidic and contains no bleach!

It has a pH of 8. Tap water is 7!

Not heard of this stuff before - would have saved me all hours yesterday day cleaning up the roof as the van is close to conifer and weeping willows and always gets algae and stuff on the roof over the winter - think ill be ordering some!

exerts from the FAQ

Wet & Forget can be used on an extensive range of outdoor surfaces including tarmac, concrete, decking, roof tiles, Astroturf, bowling greens, bricks and paving, canvas tents, caravan awnings, conservatories, fibreglass boats, greenhouses, golf greens, limestone, sandstone, marble, outdoor furniture, outdoor pots, outdoor painted surfaces, pool surrounds, shade sails, slate, tennis courts, yacht sails

And another bit from their web site

Wet and Forget is ideal for use around the home. It can be used on any outside surface. Cleaning anything from paths, patios, garden furniture, umbrellas, conservatories, greenhouses, fences and rendering, UPVC windows, all the way up to and including the roof. It can even clean your caravan, motor home or your car’s soft top.

Im a newbie
On Motorhomes there are many combinations of materials and finishes on the materials. Then there are the often found decals that can be expensive to buy and can be impossible to obtain for older vehicles.

Clean your expensive motorhomes with the products designed to do the job safely. Other stuff is in my opinion just plain daft.

I can’t believe some of the suggested products here.... Truly lost for words.

I have much experience in automotive products that are intended for cleaning preserving and making look good.

None are mentioned above. Fact is MUCH damage could result.
Charlie, Just for clarity I said soda crystals for moss on my block paving and NOT for Motorhome!

I'm sure Charlie will have mentioned them in his other many detailing posts.
As he is no longer a subscribing member he won't be replying.

Wet and forget is fine used it often when I had a caravan and a green awning that was ten years old. The results were outstanding without any problems at all.
