Travelling from Sagres up to Porto in the next few weeks. We enjoy walking, cycling, exploring smaller towns, and going to the beach. I know there are many on this forum with excellent knowledge of this area. Aires or campsites. Any advice on must do or must see very welcome. is the N125 south of Lisbon still as bad a road as it used to be?

I don’t know how bad it used to be, so not sure, but I do think it’s a lot better than some of the main roads in Northern Portugal.

Top of the head time - we like:- Vilanova de Milfontes, nice little town with beaches on estuary and sea - sites okay, if not great.
- a beautiful private aire near Obidos called Casa Azurra
-just south of Figueira da Foz is an Orbitur sites, better than most of them, and direct access to a surf beach
-Torreira, on a peninsula north of Aveiro, there’s a large car park which used to be good for overnight stays, and you could watch the catch being landed right onto the beach.
