We love Como, we stay in Domaso usually. There's this little pizzeria there, has a green frontage, and looks a bit tatty - serves the best seafood platter I've ever had! (y)
Can't remember the name, but there is a campsite opposite called Camping Le Vele.

Superb photo's (y) What stunning scenery.

The weather looks fantastic too, lucky you

BTW how safe do you feel stopping at the Aree di Sosta as my wife is very worried after our experience at a Belgium service station?

Cheers & enjoy, Antony

Keep blogging chokswahay, we stayed near lake Lugano last year and bussed it to get to the ferry for Balagio etc, only stayed a few days we were on our way to Sicily.
Enjoy.
Etap

Ah Varenna we stayed there 3 years ago and had a great holiday, loads of walking , ferry rides and not to mention ice cream. The photo in my avatar was taken there. (y)

Were usually quite happy on Aires/Sostas/Stellplatz etc. If we have any doubts we move on, from memory only ever done that once or twice in the last two years (we have stayed on hundreds, never use campsites!).

Many of the Sostas are indeed just sections of public carparks, but it suits the way we tour (pull up, get around the patch, move on..... haha)

:D

should be down in pescaria del garda around the end of the month hope the weather will be good maybe see some of ya for a large pinot :)

I would like to go down there but the cost of tunnels etc frightens me a bit also the toll costs, what are the ACTUALLY like, Are the tolls cheaper (less dear) than France or not and can you get there apart from through the big tunnels, I went through the ST Bernard on on a motorbike and it was the same cost as the bus in front of me????? not much left after that came back through Mont Blanc and that was killer too, I hate to think of the motorhome prices.

We drove from Calais to Lake Maggiore via Belgium, France, Germany, and Switzerland. The only fee we paid was €40 for the Swiss Vignette. We are less than 3.5T however. :D

I'm pleased that you're having a great time

You get lake como

Lake crapo working in the brown stuff

No blog for me tho but tbere may be a captains log the customer is ex military

Great pictures, we might dip a toe in Italy next year. It looks a great place but are the roads as bad as some have suggested - pot hole wise that is.

Our experience so far has been rather pot holed and quite busy roads. We have not yet been on an Autostrada however. The main roads are little better than the 'yellow' ones but so far it does not compare to France. Italian signs, entry and exit lanes are bonkers! So are the drivers, rushing everywhere and very poor lane discipline. Ah well, at least the Italians design nice cars!

Campers are class A same as cars and cheap...tolls not worth avoiding IMO. fuel a bit more expensive then uk mind. Italy the best! Without a yearly fix would go crazy:)
