Riding back from the gym and was hit by a wasp I had a leather jacket on but it being warm it wasn't zipped all the way up and the wasp hit my throat and went inside my shirt where it decided to sting me. It's not the first time I've been stung when on a bike but it has been a while.

Well perhaps when a lit fag end went in to my helmet on the M6 ... that was about the same I reckon

I always knew going to the gym is dangerous :)

I've been riding motorbikes for 50 years and this is about the third time. So not a major problem :)

Once had a bee fly into the side my helmet at Eye level..... Not going fast and had the visor up.
The bugger stung me before I got my helmet off but once I did I got karma..... It fell on the hot exhaust and fried, and I took great pleasure in watching it fry.

During my time dispatching, I got hit by a variety of stuff thrown from car windows, most memorable ones were..

A half eaten chip supper
A half full Macy D shake
A section of CD's ***
A petrol can ( not a can but a plastic one )
A shoe
Plus of course an assortment of general rubbish

***
I pulled in front of the car and indicated the lady had a big problem..
She stopped and I explained her small child was trying for music critic of the year by discarding her CD's out the window !!
I left them both really upset.. The kid cos he/she had copped a wallop ( repeat offender apparently ! ) and the lady cos all she had left out of a fairly substantial collection was a couple of Elton John CD's out of what looked like a 50 CD wallet thing !!

There is a lot to be said for the safety of a car, but I do love a bike :D2:D2:D2

That might have killed me, I get a very bad reaction to wasp stings and have two epicene, but they are out of date and the nhs will not replace them as they are too dear now, the price went skywards last year. I still have the old ones in case as something is better than nothing.

The answer is obviously yes, you can, but I would have thought that would be a problem for a professional pilot.

The NHS is rubbish at the moment, but you can buy them yourself, 2 pens for about £100, not cheap but if it could save my life, I'd pay it.:)

When I had a Harley and did long rides I found a full face better on a run especially if it's raining, but I had a helmet with a hinged front so I could open it up when not doing 80mph on the motorway. With the Enfield now I have open face and put up with the rain. :)
