So when someone on here talks about weight limits on a motorway with toll booths is it the registered weight or actually weight ? And if it’s the former how do they know .

What I am saying is with my updated 3500kg van - would they ever know ?

Are you asking about EU or ? for example in France it's size length and height and amount of wheels that will determine how much you pay although if over 3500Kgs you will not normally have the choice of classe 2

The French don't have 'Granddad rights'
They have to take a test to drive +3500kgs.
Ive seen some VERY dubious French Reg. vans masquerading as. - 3500kgs.

Dont give it a thought unless you are tag axled or driving something over 3mts high.

19 month year 18000 miles UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Germany, Italy. Campsites and off Grid.
My 3500kg van upgraded to 4250 has always been considered a 3500 van at toll booths in EU. Not an issue at all.
