Weather mid sept in Rhine/mosel (1 Viewer)

has anyone any experience of the weather in mid sept in Rhône and possibly Mosel region. Should have been going as soon as schools went back but now not leaving till around 16th

I have looked at weather sites but can’t beat personal experience imho

We went to the Mosel last year early September and found it cool and grey. We moved on after a week. Sorry.

That’s what I was concerned about . You can’t pick that up from weather charts.

Like anywhere else, its changeable. Three years ago we were running the aircon in September at Bacharach.

The first time we went in September it was a scorcher, last year it was miserable cold and damp, so who knows.
Its a beautiful area in any weather.
October sees all the walnut trees, thousands of them, dropping their nuts everywhere.

We were away in the first 2 weeks of September last year: started at the Mosel and travelled as far east as Poznan & Wroclaw then back again. We had everything: hot and sunny, windy, rain showers and torrential rain in no particular order. No snow though

I've given up planning trips based around the weather - it seems the weather is getting more and more unpredictable each year. We take clothes for all eventualities and if the weather is really bad then we check online to see where its better and move on there.

I have generally found end Aug start Sept weather thru central Europe to be mainly good , with odd rain , conversely pretty hot at times as well , much like UK . Last year as far East as Warsaw, and south to Nuremburg . The year before Prague, (very warm) and sleet coming over mountains back into Germany !
