I always look at the forecast before planning my last-minute trips.

Has anyone else noticed that next week’s forecast always looks better than this week’s?

It invariably changes nearer the time though and not in a good way

yes, I have noticed it too.

But Ive also noticed it when it said it was going to be poor, and then it turns out nice.

that's a bit cynical

When I look and it often seems to forecast worse weather than actually turns out to be the case.
I think more then 2/3 days in advance is mostly guesswork based on seasonal expectations of what it should be doing ?

Considering the technolgy and multi million super computer they were hailing a few years ago I am surprised Met Office can give little more than a rough guide as to what the next 24hrs might hold in store. Their meteorologists don't even seem able to read or predict their own rain radar app! They even get the weather in Exeter wrong 50% of the time!
I think however we should all be grateful that they didn't train to be Dr's!!!!!

Check your sea weed, if it’s wet it’s raining if it’s not there it’s too windy.
I rely more on the satellite picture, the met office prediction for our area seldom agrees with the right up.

I tend to use Met Office over the others ...take it a week at a time, for rain warnings I use Drops phone app.... But whatever... always have my rain Mac with me

Been looking at the continent especially Switzerland for the first week in June on accuweather and it’s not pretty! Might have to veer elsewhere
Hope it changes as I want to traverse the alps towards Croatia
