Well, we did move off last evening and parked up for the night 6 kms away.

We came across a sort of mix between a car boot sale, Gypsy market and a village fete. I bought a wooden box...

20160821_111219.jpg

Then we had to stay awake until 10pm when they held the raffle... we had bought four tickets to win a Renault 4 (in great condition).

Neither of us won it. :(

Now we have moved back to our lakeside spots. It is deserted here. (y)

Sun shining and, no doubt, Ms Mermaid will be back in the water soon.

Since being asked very nicely not to "overnight" by the lake, we have spent the last two nights here... a sort of "aire" in Morcenx.

Today is the last day of this French trip. :(

After some lake time, Frankie will head back to Balma and I go south to Portugal.

Time flies.

Time doesnt half fly. Just seems like a few days ago you left.

Just been catching up with the thread. Some lovely photos and sounds like you had a lovely time.

Interested on the lettuce progress. You sure must get some strange looks. :)

Safe travels homewards.

Is a shame when a tour ends, especially when you are both having so much fun. Oh well back to the grindstone, well for Frankie anyway. Hope your 'visitors' have gone?

Dare I be so bold as to ask what you want the box for @JJ. Will it be used as some stage prop in the new show, or perhaps an authentic back box for the vintage Hymer.

My dear Mr Snowbird,

I only dare post this reply (with great respect) because I consider you to be a friend... but you really do need to "man up" a bit.

Since when did a bloke need to need something before he buys it?

I liked the box. The price was acceptable. I bought it...

I will think of something to put in it in due course. ;)

I know, I know. I have sheds full of stuff that I bought thinking I will find something to do with it in due course. I concede, it was a stupid question.

Great trip, seems to have ended before it began

Are you still offering Lazy Zen training in your winter quarters?

Man plans and sometimes God just leaves him to it...

Frankie is back at Balma and...

... I have arrived at my favourite Spanish Service station just north of Victoria-Gasteiz. (220 kms since 3.15... including the traffic around Biarritz etc)

This was the plan!

Leaves 550 kms on free motorway to Portugal...

Back to Balma.
After only a few kms on my way back home...phone rings ....work was online...PAH ! Bad news , just to stop me from dreaming away while driving I guess!
Not my boss on the phone though as HE knows I am still on holidays, he gave an extra day off as a reward for having stayed on the spot while we were having "visitors". Didn't have choice did I?
Anyway, this is what was waiting for me: a devastated party room. This is were we're having private parties free of charge. It seems the gypsies came back to destroy. No evidence it was them though. I tend to think another group tried to get in but we got our neighbour to turn up the earth so the way the previous group of gypsies used to get in is now plowed , no way to get on the stadium anymore.
I must say I am quite happy my parents stayed away from there, safe in the house!
So there, they broke the door and mashed everything including the 2 ovens. The fridge has been badly damaged too. Quite a sad "welcome back home"....

How shocking for you to have to return to that mess.
Mindless vandalism ,I'm just surprised they didn't take anything was it perhaps someone wanting to blame the gypsies?
Hope you get lots of helpers to clean up.

I don't know what to think, but I find quite suspicious this way of acting at least 5 days after we left. Just seen Boss and he thinks youngsters took the opportunity to have some fun destroying everything!
