It is not exactly warm here either at the moment. Nice sunny day, but a cold wind.
Very true, we left here yesterday lunch time (13.30) in shorts and tee shirt as it was a very warm day and by the time we returned it was very cold. The days are good once the sun gets up but that wind is still the killer. However, any day soon now this wind chill will disappear and we will get the weather we all want. Incidentally, anyone visiting here, the Chinese restaurant next to Phil's bar (Named Habana 7) does a cracking 4 course meal for under €7.0 and next door (closes at 3 pm and re-opens at 6 pm does bottle of beer and glasses of wine for €1.0 and cheap food to boot. On the main road above Consum. Their sales have gone through the roof since the arrival of Funsters.

This morning we loose Peter & Angela who are looking for somewhere a little less windy. We have 25 mph winds for the next 2 days but forecast to be 22 deg today. Smashing couple and we enjoyed having them join us even though we never did see any of those biscuits.
Have a safe trip, hope to see you again soon.

We left Cullera this morning via the supermarket and filling station to stock up. Got fed up with the bitter wind.

We are now on the unofficial free Aire on the car park at Moraira. Thanks to @PhilandMena for telling us about it. Much warmer here with hardly any wind.

Went for a short walk and impressed so far. Judging by the overheard voices and the property prices in the estate agents we are in a well heeled Brit enclave. The other give aways were the 4 Chinese restaurants, 3 Indian restaurants and a fish and chip shop we came across. Needn't have stocked up with food this morning.

We are still enjoying Moraira. Here is the marina with Calpe in the background.

Weather a bit cloudy but the wind has dropped now. We had a Spanish Menu de la dia yesterday at the harbour but I was told we were going for an English today. So down to the Red Lion pub for a 3 course roast meal. And very good it was too.

Just chilling out at the moment letting our dinner settle and deciding what to do next.

Any suggestions as to where we should go next are welcome as long as they are not to rude.

Looks a great spot Peter

We liked it at 50129 which is on the beach, just south of Alicante.
Went there on the offchance after we failed to get into the Aire at Aktar

There are a number of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.

Thanks for that Robert but it is where we have come from. At the moment we are still heading South.

Hi Peter
I thought Alicante was south of Calpe?
Bugger Robert. I can only blame the alcohol at lunchtime because I can't spell Altzimers. I was getting Alicante confused with Valencia.

Will definately look at that one thanks.

Well we are now on a camperstop in Calpe. Only just managed to squeeze in as they are now all full for Easter. We ended up having to move pitch yesterday to to let a particular funster have it. I suspect he has some sway with the management.

Ended up having a funster mini meet yesterday, and a happy lot they all were

Everybody behaved themselves and we all finished early, so no complaints from the other campers. Must try harder next time as we are letting down the reputation of MHF. .

Looks to be another warm day today before the forecast rain comes tomorrow.

Now moved pitch again to get the best one on the site. It is like touring only you don't leave the site.

We had a PM for help yesterday from @BreweryDave and Jackie who had gone for a walk and got caught in a storm. They were sheltering in a tapas bar on the beach. Being the good citizens we are we immediately set off with warm clothes for them in a valiant rescue bid. When we got there the weather took a turn for the worse and we too were forced to take refuge in the same bar. The storm seemed to last for ages, and continued on our way back to the site meaning we were again forced to take shelter in two more bars. It would have been three but one told us they were closing even though they had lots of customers in there.

I have got a headache this morning so may be going down with a cold. I find this often happens when we meet up with Dave and Jackie.

Been really lazy lately so here is a bit of an update.

This is our latest pitch on the site
20180331_135225.jpg

Spent most of the time lazing about in the sun. But Sunday we went on a bar crawl through Calpe with @BreweryDave and @Kaz B This is us at the second bar
20180401_152925.jpg

Finally ended at about midnight in our moho.

Yesterday we went for an Indian meal which was good. Tomorrow we are off South but who knows where.

Well we left Calpe on Wednesday continuing South heading for some beach camping south of Alicante at CC50129. When we got there the wind was blowing a hooley and the sand was blasting the motorhome. That and the large "no camper" signs made us decide not to stay.

So we headed off for somewhere more sheltered. Found Camperpark San Fulgencio CC15050 at la Marina and decided to stop. Not very nice surroundings but the camperstop is good with friendly neighbours. We have an Iceland and Lidl within 150m a Mercadona within 300m and a huge Chinese supermarket within 250m. So stocking up with bits we need and lazing in the sun yesterday.

The weather looks poor over most of Spain and Portugal this weekend so have decided to stop here until Sunday because at least it is sheltered. We are off exploring the surroundings on the scooter today and there is supposed to be a huge market right outside the site on Saturday.

More updates to follow.

Cloudy and windy today so we decided to go out on the scooter. First looked at the La Marina beach. Nice and sandy but deserted in the wind. Then off to El Pinet where @Lenny HB wilded earlier in the week. His photo was a bit flattering, but not a bad spot with lots of FLTs parked up and a bit more sheltered than most spots on the cosst. One for @Busman and @PhilandMena to look at. We may try it when we are next in the area.

Then we headed down the coast to Torrevieja for a look around there. Spotted the Aire on the coast CC62540. Good views but very exposed and a mile or so out from the town centre.

Had a decent lunch at a restaurant on the beach front, but generally we were disappointed with the place. We were expecting a more up market resort. The beach front was smart, but behind it was a scruffy working Spanish town. Maybe we were just expecting too much.

One for Jackie of @BreweryDave We saw a big funeral in town that you could have joined in with. Long line of mourners following the coffin on foot. ;):D2

Hi Peter we up sticks at Cullera today and now at a nice Aire at Bellus next to the dam. All facilities here and a honesty payment of €2 which being FLT's we don't pay (joke). Will be down Alicante way Monday to pick Maggie up was looking at stopping at that other FLT @Lenny HB place. Will keep checking your posts as hopefully meet up with you and Angela on the road.
Happy Trails

I like him to but 3 days continuous is a bit too much.:ROFLMAO:
You make it sound like I had you staked to the ground on an ant hill, stripped naked, covered in honey with my speakers strapped to your ears! We both know only part of that is the truth.
