Well we woke up yesterday morning and after a beautiful brekky of homemade bread rolls, scrammy egg and a couple of cups of tea, provided as ever by my fab SHMBO we started to panic about summer hols! Were campsites filling up? Were we going to miss the boat and end up being stuck in the North West with nowhere to go? Well we’ve booked for near Padstow for the third week in June and near Looe for the last week in June-1st week July and to say we’re happy is an understatement! We’re going to take our Toad and have an absolute blast! We do have to hope that we get vaccinated and that lockdown is dead in the water! Can’t wait! We are also hoping for a few “dry runs” of long weekends away..... here’s hoping!

What are other people’s plans?!

Cheers!

We have tunnel crossings booked May -June and then September. Who knows?

Booked a few c&mc sites on south coast Inc isle of Wight for the 3&4th weeks in July.
Had a few nights at Looe last year, walked into town and busted back
Site has a visiting pizza kitchen a few times a week.
Enjoy.

Joined the caravan and motorhome club!
Yes I know.
They do have a great selection of CLs, which if we want to take the electric bikes we can recharge them there.
It’s an experiment and at £54 to join, it will, or will not work.
Hopefully we will cross the channel in September, fingers crossed.

Angoulême, third week in September.

Well we have all the things we missed last year and opted to carry over to this year. have booked a few weeks, to take grandkids away and to go away with some friends, may work out may not but gives us something to look forward to.Have not amended our tunnel booking as we hope we may still get away but can change it nearer the time. Have been aiming for Italy for acouple of ears, travelling with friends, might make it next year.

Booked up Blair Atholl mid May then onto Braemar for another week. Then the Outer Hebrides - Lewis, Harris,Uist and Barra for 2 weeks.
However it all depends on restrictions being lifted but all bookings have been made Including ferries and camp sites. All refundable or bookings can be moved forward it restrictions still apply.

We have a four site tour in the U.K. booked for May, hopefully, and intend to use our voucher for the Tunnel which we have from a cancelled trip last year, in September.

Fingers crossed.

It's nice to plan trips, I really enjoy it. That said the beauty of a motorhome is that you really don't have to plan. We have a lot going on so won't plan anything, but if opportunity pops open a window, we'll be off, don't care where.

Hopefully 🤞 these 4  for a start:

We stayed at Looe site (very nice) and I was also "busted" by the trek back up to the site from town.

We don't plan, just go, and shall do so when we believe it's safe. Perhaps not for some time but we're always ready.

We booked for Highlands end in July( 1st for us) looking forward to it, then last night booked couple night in Bracelands Forest of Dean..camped many years ago nearby, so will be a different experience in Zebedee, anyone been on that site?

We’ve booked ferry and campsite in Spain for September. We can’t see it happening, so have also booked campsites along the south coast of England.

Ferries booked for France late June and Holland in September fingers crossed we'll get away.

We've never planned a holiday since giving up touring the UK many years ago.
Staying in the UK means booking god knows how far in advance so freedom goes out of the window. We'll probably just wait until we can tour freely and avoid the panic.
If europe doesn't open we'll probably throw the towel in after over 40 years and sell the outfit.
Couldn't go back to regimental holidays and UK campsites.

Don't forget to try them when booking a crossing, sometimes the discount pays for your membership. It certainly does for us on the Hull crossing as we normally save a good fifty to sixty pounds through the CMC.

We had to cancel last Septembers crossing and had a credit as long as we booked to travel within the year, we've booked Hull to Rotterdam for this September which worked out even cheaper so got breakfast thrown in.

We ain't booked cause we realistic and don't think we can go.....BUT... if we can we will go somewhere.. even if only back garden.
Get rid of this awful thing then start to plan. 👹👹👹👹👹👹

We did two two week trips to the Highlands last year. Nothing booked and no real problems finding somewhere for the night and it does look as if there will be more aire type stops this year. Only stopped on one campsite and that was anything but regimented! It’s not all bad in the U.K.

We feel very similar, don't really like UK sites in general as many are too formal, the atmosphere is not as relaxed as Europe and worse of all you have to book ahead even out of high season, especially in this situation. Europe doesn't look hopeful for this year so that means the UK will once again be even more full so the tourist places will be as well making parking, driving and just getting around a pain.
We gave up on UK hols years ago but we're actually now booking a few UK places off the beaten track where we will get money back or lose small deposit if we change our minds but it is alien to us to be booking stuff up - like you we just go where we fancy with only an outline idea and in Europe always find a site or aire. In Europe we're happy to stop at naturist campsites so we're doing a couple of those over here as in the UK they are not so popular or busy and while we probably won't take much advantage of the naturism due to Uk crap weather, they might not be as full as mainstream sites.
But, the fact that we're doing UK instead of europe means we ourselves are adding to one of the things we don't like - overcrowding...but like most others, we need a break after the rubbish we've been through.

Do we sell or do we keep?...not decided but giving it serious thought. Prices for vans are still silly so we would get a good price if we did sell, but then we know we'd probably not buy again and somehow we don't quite feel like we've finished touring europe yet (we still have Scandanavia - planned for 2020 - and Eastern Europe and S Spain to do plus revisiting Croatia), but waiting another year may be a bit too long.

Both sites we’ve booked are C.L. We’re starting to get excited already!

Cheers!

Main ones were booked about a month ago although we never book during school holidays ago, I suspect popular sites are getting quite booked up or even full at times at the moment.

First 2 weeks in July, a few sites in Cornwall for a trip
Thought process was If we aren't able to go because it is not safe, I am comfortable with that...
But if we aren't able to go because we sat on our hands and everywhere is full, I will be mad at myself

Got a few 2/3- nighters booked with C&MC which we know are flexible throughout May to Sept

Managed to pre book a few CMC sites locations through the South West. Would have preferred to use CLs but there wasn't the flexibility around these. Many need a deposit(No problem with that) but having paid a deposit the flexibility to change ones mind without penalty goes out the window. The CLs that do not require a deposit would be let down at last minute with a change of mind and no shows. So by sticking to the main CMC sites we can change our minds three days prior and release the booking, as allowed by the T& Cs.

Scotland would by a late Spring goal but cannot see that opening before the midges wake up.

Appreciate your reply, was a little concerned how big it was, but like you said, it's the scenery we are most looking forward to, and the granddaughter aged 11 will love it:giggle:
