Have owned my moho for 2.5 years now
I have had an issue with my water pump syste . When I switch it on at the panel I hear it click. I have tested the power at the pump and Nd and getting voltage. I have tried sucking water through from the shower. Still nothing. So I changed pump thinking it was that. Then powered it all up and still nothing. Struggling to think what it is now any help would be great

Is it a submersible pump in the water tank (with micro switches on the taps) or the free-standing Shurflo type?
What do you mean by 'Nd' ?
Presumably you can't hear the pump running but just a 'click' from it.
Could you by chance have fitted the non-return valve the wrong way around?

And for Nd. That's right it makes no noise it's a free standing pump

It may seem daft, but first I'd disconnect the hoses from the pump and test it with 12v, and also test the 'old' one on the bench with power from a battery charger if you don't have a spare battery in the shed. At least it will prove that the pump is O.K. and then you can continue investigation.

It could be that there's a poor electrical connection in the wiring or at the switch, fuse or at the pump which breaks down (goes open circuit) when the pump is switched on and the current rises.

Just done that on both pumps and one off the van ok and one on the van ok and can here it pressurising. So looks like an electric fault. Checked the fuses on distribution unit and they look ok

Update tried both pumps on external 12v supply and both run. The one on the van also pressurises

When the pump has pressurised the system its pressure switch will turn it off until water is run from a tap which will cause the the pressure to drop and the pressure switch will turn the pump back on.

Yep that's how it has worked before. Checked the fuses all ok still nothing from the van only I use external 12v supply. Check there appears to be 12v at the pump from the van but not 100% sure. All other 12v electrics are ok

Well to be blunt you need to be sure there's 12v by testing with a meter.
It's an outside possibility that the pump fuse has blown or is faulty but still has continuity because the filament ends are touching until current is passing causing the ends to heat up, curl and separate. Visual inspection is insufficient. Replace the pump fuse with a known good one to be sure.

To diagnose absolutely you could also temporarily wire the pump to an independent 12v source, bypassing all the m/h wiring/switches/fuses etc.

Right update on this. Having taken my Motorhome to a professional it was fixed within an hour. It appears that there was a fault on the sargent unit on the internal pump side. So it has been swapped to the external pump side on the circuit board now just have to remember to switch the control panel above the door to external and every works. £100 spent on a professional and i have running water again . Thanks to Donington Caravans Lincolnshire for a very prompt service
