C.I. Fiat Ducato

We (partner and I) are "Newbies"!
As a very very Newbie, my partner and I recently acquired a L.H.D. C.I. ( actual model name unknown), Fiat Ducato chassis, first registered in France in 2004, re-registered in UK in 2006. I have already replaced the Fiamma water pump and the domestic battery, both faulty! However, I have no idea how to turn the pump on other than making a direct connection to dash 12V socket. We lack all information concerning the fixtures and fittings. I downloaded the Roller Team's Owner's Handbook which is quite useful in some respects but different in some ways to our model (we have a Thetford 3 way fridge). The control?/monitoring? panel above the entrance door is somewhat mystifying! Any help greatly appreciated.

If you can put a photo of it up, that'll help. (And keep an eye on how many posts you can do before you have to pay - it's well worth it).

If you listen very carefully at the taps you may hear a click as you turn or lift. in which case the tap has a switch to turn on the pump. the alternative system is one which pressurises there system so that when you open the tap the pressure drop switches on the pump. I am not sure that there are diagrams to illustrate the two systems but in all cases there should be a feed from battery van switch to isolate the water system pump. Look for a switch which has 12 volts on it fro which multimeter is a godsend for this work. CI refers to to the company Caravans International who produce the Sprite, and Major range of caravans an also motorhomes of various ilk.

Photo of the control panel might be a help.

You must have removed two wires to remove the pump.
Reconnect those two wires.
On the vans control panel, usually over the hab door but could be elsewhere, there will be a water pump master control switch....could be a pic of a tap or a stack of wavy lines indicating water.
If nothing turns the pump on there must be a wiring fault.
You need a multimeter to fault find.
If you can't faultfind it will be far quicker to employ someone who can.
