Hi folks, the water pressure at the taps in my MH is very weak and slow to start, especially the hot one. Assuming it was a fresh water pump problem, I have replaced it with a new one, and also checked the non-return valve which appears to be ok. The MH is a 2004 Hymer 654,with a Truma heating/water system. Any ideas / advice on this would be very welcome. Many thanks in anticipation, Sime.

If you have replaced the pump, possibly something blocking the pipework, if it on the hot and cold then check the pipes before it splits

Did you make sure you got a pump with the correct flow rate? Hymer normally fit the Reich Tandem pump with 19 Lt/min flow rate.
As it's mainly the hot could be scale build up in the hot tank outlet if the tank has not been descale regularly.

I put 3Lt of white wine vinegar in the cold tank then add about 10 Lt of water. Turn the hot taps on until vinegar smelling water comes out the hot taps. Run the boiler on the hot setting for a few hours then fill the cold tank and flush it through, I do it once a year.
You can use citric acid I use the white wine vinegar as its what Truma use to recommend and its cheap I stock up in France at 30p Lt.

Have you checked the aerators on the taps ? image.jpeg

Thanke for that Lenny, even though I've had a MH for yonks I didn't know about that at all. I'll certainly do that and see if it cures the problem. Many Thanks.

Thanks for your Tip Lenny and I've taken your advice and done the flush out with the wine vinegar, that will be an annual chore from now on, However I see now that the problem is definitely in or near the boiler , in that when I engage the hot tap, water is discharged from a overflow pipe which protrudes downwards through the floor located directly under the Truma , There appear to be two half inch overflow in that area but only one is discharging.

Wonder if your frost protection/drain valve is half open?

That is the air release valve it allows air to escape when the boiler is filling from empty. In the T piece there is a one way valve they get gummed up with calcium. Cheap & easy to replace.

I think this is the one for your boiler.

also reversing the wiring can help
We had a 2008 Hymer caravan with same problem, reversed the wiring at the pump connection problem solved! Worth a try.

Yes Lenny HB, you're absolutely spot on, having gained maximum access to the top of the unit, I can see that when the tap is turned on there seems to be almost equal amounts of water delivered to the taps and through the transparent vent pipe. So having removed the t piece along with the sleeve and nut, I can't for the life of me, see anything in it to resemble a one-way valve. The sleeve seems to have a split along it's length ,not sure if its suppose to have that. Sorry about all the questions.
