Does anyone know a solution to stop water ingress into engine bay on 2020 Fiat Ducato
Apparently it’s not covered under warranty as garage says it’s a design fault

I would be challenging the garage on this answer and contacting FIAT in Italy directly.
Water ingress into the engine bay could be the source of untold consequential damage which FIAT may reject warranty claims against as the ingress hadn't been repaired.
Don't have FIAT number handy but some else will be along shortly with it.

Probably the scuttle drains are blocked with leaves,have you cleaned them out,should be 3 holes in the drain top that tend to clog up

Get it in writing, then challenge it. If they are admitting to a design fault on a 1 year old van then you will surely have some redress.

The scuttle below the windscreen on newer vans has a better drain preventing this hopefully. The water is drained to the ground via a pipe. Water ingress via the front grill, radiator and underneath are normal by design. Fiat had a massive issue with the scuttle overflowing and the water running onto the engine causing repeated issues

Would be interested in any new design faults

We have the same drainage arrangement on our 2019 Fiat base. It's imperative too, [as mentioned by others] keep the three drain down tubes clear. Rod them out gently, perhaps a kitchen drain flexi tool, then blast a hose down the tubes to make sure they are clear.
Some water inside the base of air draw scuttle is inevitable, but it collects at the bottom of the scuttle and will run out the drain off pipe at the back.
The air is drawn through the underside of the top area of the scuttle, through an initial crude screen, before the dawn air gets to the main paper filter.AFIK.

The 3 drainage tubes do get blocked by crud so you need to clear them periodically as has been suggested.

If there is a problem, it is because the scuttle drainage must have been damaged or badly fitted at the factory, so that should be covered by the FIAT warranty.

Absolute nonsense from the garage. The warranty would obviously cover design faults.
