ours had the wrongly installed seals at the manufacturing stage - should have been a double black seal so all sorted once that was sortedWe have had water coming into the garage from one door. We know it’s rain snd not a leak anywhere. The seal around the door (see photo) has a gap, should it be there? Never noticed before.
& do it whilst one of you is inside witha torchit’s really weird, because the water is not coming from any side walls or above. We will try a hose pipe around the seal of the door.
Just checked the door and it is a scuff mark, I . Will do the hose test in the morning with hubby inside .The bottom left looks to be damp and a bit black on the door and the body, maybe it's too tight and is not flowing to the drain hole? Maybe on your hose test put some paper/card in the bottom left to see if that is where it gets in.
That’s interesting, but we have had ours 4 years. How long did it take for yours to leak?ours had the wrongly installed seals at the manufacturing stage - should have been a double black seal so all sorted once that was sorted
From the very start. That’s interesting, but we have had ours 4 years. How long did it take for yours to leak?
ours is a Hymer 554 cl.
I think it’s every MHs dread water getting in. The water is pooling but not travelling as paper around the area is dry.Water can travel long distances so trying to locate the entry point can be challenging.
My water ingress was travelling up into a small gap left by the manufacturer. I couldn't believe this could happen until I actually saw it with my own eyes.
Interesting will check that out. Glad you found yours. We think it is when the rain runs off the roof over the back. So could def be a possibility. How did you find the leak?My hymer 654 had a small leak in to the garage at the back and i initially thought it was the garage door seal as its the same design as yours
Turned out it was actually coming in the high level brake light seal and then running inside the fibreglass mould to the corner and coming down the inside trim edge to the garage floor
No sign or trace of it inside till it reached there.

That is true! We will try to find a bit of rubber good ideaWe've got the Hymer B680 and one time when we was away it really tipped down and we had a leak from the rear bedroom window, when we got home I checked it all out and found that several window seal rubbers had shrunk (or never been installed correctly in the first place) I removed them all completely, washed them and the channel they fit in to out to get rid of the crap, reinstalled them all with some silicone, and got left with a little gap like you have there, found some similar rubber in the shed, cut, matched and installed now all window are perfect.
I would say to you try to find some sort of SOFT rubber to fill the gap, if you think that the gap you have is intentionally to let water out then that means that Hymer made it intentional for water to get in
yes had to pull him out as it’s difficultDon't forget to let him out again!
Water can track and travel a very long way - the leak from our boiler pooled under the fridge.
In our house tissue paper is used as an effective "tell". Also I have used water based coloured felt tip pens on tissue so there is a dye which can be picked up elsewhere just in case the first tissue dries out.
