Water heating

Buying a 10 year old Arapaho and need some advice please

When parked up do I turn my water heater on and leave it on until I move again? Therefore would have hot water whenever we need it

Or to I just turn it on say 15mins before I need it for washing hands, dishes, shower etc

If on hookup maybe okay to leave on but not when on gas?

That's what we do, just switch on 10 minutes before use. I stuck a cheap digital thermometer sensor on the heater tank so we can see when it's warm enough
