We have a 10 year old Swift Sundance 582PR, been quite lucky thus far with no massive problems. I decided to do the annual water system clean out with Puriclean, filled up the fresh tank and turned on the water pump to fill the pipes. Water came out of the taps OK but then I noticed a massive amount of water falling from the underside of the van and then saw it welling up onto the floor next to the shower room. Luckily it's going in next Thursday for a hab check so hopefully it will be sorted out before we go away in 6 weeks. Any ideas what could be causing this? We did think it might be a split hose under the wash room but then the water would simply drain away and not apparently seep upwards unless of course there was a blockage.

As you say ,probably a split or pushed off hose, , if it's the first time you have checked the water since last year, it's been down to -11C in some places the end of last year.
It needs a hole to drain out-of the van area.
If you can dry it out and at least empty the water tanks.
On the hab check best to advise them about the leak first.

Is the boiler in the cupboard opposite the shower room ?

It's not too damp inside luckily, most of it went from under the van. I can't empty the tanks without using the pump so I'm snookered there. I'll leave that problem to the engineer!

Why didn't I do multi-quote?.........

You should be able to dump all the water using the boiler dump valve or even just the freshwater drain tap.

Where from underneath the van is the water escaping ? Gas drop out vents ?
From directly underneath the washroom, can't see if it's coming out from the vents.

The boiler dump valve needs the pump on to work it seems. I'll stick my hand in the tank and pull out the plug from the bottom.

Funny you should post this. I have a similar problem with our Zefiro 685. I noticed water coming across the floor from an area near the water tank. I opened the tank area and could see about 1/4" water trapped in the corner beside the tank. I soaked it up and checked the tank was empty which it was and checked again the following day and water was back. There is no sign of water anywhere else around the tank and it is drained down. Bit of a pain as I cant track the water to a single source. The pump is connected to the bottom of the tank and it was a bit damp near the connection. But not as much as was in the corner when I first saw it. Hard work to try and see if it is internal or is it external. Any Views. ?

All water tanks have a drain, some accessible from inside the tank and others from under the MH. Have a look underneath your van under the water tank

My money is on a cracked bowl on the water pump from frost dammage or a leak from under one of the taps with water tracking back down the pipes
You've given me an idea, the shower tap has become loose over the recent years. It's very hard to get behind the plastic cover to tighten it, I've had a go several times and only improved but it comes loose again over time. Yesterday it was the loosest it's ever been. I'll have a go removing the plastic cover completely today to see if the leak is coming from that tap.

Sounds like the odds on favourite!

Right, tracked down the culprit! It wasn't the loose shower tap but I fixed that anyway. After looking for signs of water along the rear and sides of the van and not finding anything I removed the little inspection hatch underneath the washroom sink and found the loose connection. As I have the engineering and plumbing skills of a baby chimpanzee I can't find a way to repair the connection but looks like a simple job for the engineer next week. Thanks for the comments and ideas everyone.

that would have been peeing out like a good un !!!/
But they are just push fits...musnt have been secure in properly in the first place, push it back in till it seats properly and check. (may have to release the front one first. I assume you havent any any freezing pipes of course in which case it could be damaged.

Thanks for that, I'll have a go at the push fit bit. I can't see any evidence of frost damage but I always make sure I drain down the system as well as I can for the winter.

I've tried to push the top hose back into the white 3 way connector but it doesn't hold. There is a little white "rim" on the top of the 3 way connector that rotates freely so I suspect the white connector needs replacing.

Yup...the whole 3 way can be replaced for pennies. Ooh err missus

That will do as long as it takes the same width pipes...? 12mm (3/8)

Maybe worth removing the old one though and take a look. Sometimes the ring can be pulled out slight which release the pipe and needs to be pushed back to secure it...will be obvious when you remove it as it will have a little "flange lip" even if not then you may see some other reason

Squeeze up the flange on the join and pull the pipe out..can be a bit awks but will come
