Apparently there has been a problem on the Ferries to Corsica where security personnel have been demanding Motorhomes leave their gas cylinders on the quay (Gas powered vehicles are not allowed on but gas for cooking and heating is )

This is a quote from the French Camping Car dot com magazine website

They recommend a printed out download of a leaflet to explain that you are allowed to carry up to 3 x 13kg cylinders

In the summer of 2016, testimonies from campers who had to abandon their gas bottles before boarding Corsica moved our community. Rightly, even if the phenomenon seems to have had more scope on the forums than in reality. We contacted the ferry companies, with the result sometimes contradictory answers. For certain interlocutors, it related to the prefect, Vigipirate or the security of the port. For others, sometimes officiating in the same company, there was no problem to embark with its bottles of gas. Finally, it was Corsica Ferries, one of the companies by whom the scandal had arrived, that we had knowledge of the outcome of the story: a decree dated December 20, 2016, Print and slide in your glove compartment, specifies that "Caravan, mobile home or motorhome vehicles are allowed to carry no more than 3 bottles of butane / propane gas. The total weight of these bottles does not exceed 47 kg. These cylinders are intended only for the use of lighting, heating and cooking equipment of the vehicle. Other types of private vehicles excluding caravans, mobile homes or motor homes are allowed to carry 1 cylinder of gas up to 13 kg ". Whereof.
