What do you wash out your waste water tank and what do you add if anything

What do you wash out your waste water tank and what do you add if anything
Usually I leave some fresh water in the grey tank on leaving a site and empty as soon as we get home.
The movement while driving swills the tank and it clears when emptying .. problem solved(y)

Ours is self cleaning. I kept the kitchen sink separate of the grey tank. If no food waste enters the grey, just soapy water and motion keeps it clean. On the kitchen sink we got a 10l container which we empty as needed, minimum once a day. Imagine all the grease and food waste on that grey plumbing, and tank.

At the end of a trip we drain the tank then put around 10 to 20 litres of water into the tank by running the taps with a bleach tablet in each plug hole. This washes the bleach through the waste pipes and into the tank.

We leave it swishing around on our way home emptying in when we get there. We then leave the grey waste tap open.

No problem with smells and only takes a minute or so each time.

Bio washing tablet in waste water tank and down plug hole.

The essential difference between bio and non-bio detergents is that bio detergents contain certain enzymes that are very effective at cleaning stains. These enzymes serve as a booster technology, designed to break down protein, starches, and fat that are often found in food stains, sweat and other common stains.
The enzymes also work at lower temperatures, so bio detergents are more effective at lower temperatures (30-50°C) than non-bio detergents.

Even a tablet to swish around the toilet cassete gives it a good clean.

A tip I have mentioned before which i got from Richard (Scotties)..
When leaving a site after you empty the grey. pour a couple of litres of pure fresh orange juice down a plug and let it swish about
Every time we have done that it has killed any iffy smells

Bit of a waste of fresh juice, I'd rather drink it and use the bio detergent

Bicarbonate of soda, chuck a tub of it in hot water to dilute and poor that down after emptying waste tank, whoosh it about and empty, job done and cheap.

Fenwicks tank cleaner ... does what it says on the tin
