Where can I get a new sender unit to show the water level in the waste tank on my 2004 auto trail cheyenne?
have you inspected it.. do you know what type it is.. ? It may just need cleaning

the most common type is just three different length stainless steel probes suspended in the tank, they work by conducting a small electric current through the water..

as said, they can get gunged up, remove and clean is generally all they need..

as for reliability.. must depends on what you put down the sink waste.. oil and grease float and eventually coat the probes, effectively insulating them..

If yours is the same as most others it will consist of a 5 metal rods. A cable (often ribbon cable) with 5 wires connects the metal rods back to the gauge. Other than the cable being damaged or the rods being covered in gunge there's nothing to go wrong.

Edit: Too slow again.
