Here's my bathroom refurb, I got rid of the Hymer "blue" with granite stone effect paint followed by a coat of epoxy resin
Post the products up that you used please Figaro

Some people have unusually keen memories for institutional toilet facilities ... ;)

Nice job, definite improvement on the original finish IMHO. Brighter and very much 'on trend'. (y)
Makes you wonder how many have been in institution's or prisons :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :wink:

I would like to have my like room done but don't know where or how to start I have wood effect and the pink and blue flowers would love to see the back of both

For the granite effect I used Plasticote Stone spray paint from B&M after a base coat of grey primer to conceal the blue. The stone paint doesn't have much depth of colour so it's best to use a base coat of the approximate finish colour you want. This was followed by a coat of clear epoxy resin.

For the grey sections I used Bedec multi surface paint bought online. I bought light grey and soft white. The light grey was still too dark for what I wanted so I mixed enough making sure I had sufficient for 2 coats on everything.

I used the soft white MSP on the sink and it has proved durable so far after a matt lacquer finish.
Everything except the sink was removed for prep and painting.
Only the stone effect sections had the epoxy finish.

I was quite pleased with the outcome as the Hymer blue is quite dated now.

The Bedec is a very good paint.
The team that developed the pai paint originally worked for ICI, but when ICI declined to fund further development the team set up their own company and rest is history as they say.
Mike.

Thanks Figaro. All Bedec paints are good I find - I have a Victorian house with original sash windows and fancy gable end timberwork, I now will only use MSP on them- it lasts very well, much better than modern Dulux, being microporous it allows the wood to breathe. After going to the effort of restoration like the below, you want something that will last and protect your hard work!

A neighbour has just used their elastomeric flexible masonry paint on a garage with finely cracked render - he's been very impressed with it.

Looks great by the way. (y)
