It also helps to harden them after all it was once used in the tanning process for leather.

One of the Fellas in our Unit, an Irish Guardsman, used to wee in his boots and leave it overnight, he reckoned it softened the leather,

the pranks that soldiers pull.!!! Bernie (an aquaintence in the barrack room) used to pee in somones boots at night and we all laughed as they pulled them on.

In butchering, if you got cut or stuck with a pork bone peeing on the wound (or even someone else peeing on it) was reckoned to stop the wound going septic. I am told that it worked, at least, they did not go septic...whether or not they would have? Jane

According to guidelines you can only use sanitisers 5 times before a proper hand wash. Best way to save water seems obvious . Use sanitiser for a rub all over instead of a shower for 5 days and shower properly on the 6th then miss the 7th day and start again on day 1 with sanitiser. Then you will have enough water for an occasional hand wash.........
