OK, I had my first one delivered in March 2015 with a 3 year warranty. New one this March has only 2 years with an optionional cost to extend to 5 years.

Hi Howard
I queried this with marquis when buying mine as the advert said two years and their response was marquis vehicles have a three year warranty.

Have you contacted marquis?

If your van is the same as in your profile a Benimar, it will only have a 2 year warranty.
Fiat offer a 2 year pan European warrany, the 3 year warranty a British thing with the third year being a dealer/insurance backed.
The Fiat chassis for your Benimar was supplied to Benimar in Spain hence the 2 year warranty. Only Fiat chassis supplied in the UK to British converters have a 3 year warranty. All imported vans only have a 2 year warranty on the base vehicle.

Thanks Lenny , that must be the case then can’t see the logic in it but if that’s what it is that’s what it is . Fingers crossed nothing expensive goes wrong (y)

Too long lol
I was going to post similar to Lenny so I will clarify that he is right. Look at Fiat professional website and it should clarify.

More than toes wet now!
The wording from our Auto-trail 2013 handbook -

Once the 24 month warranty has expired, Fiat Professional will warrant the vehicle for an additional period of 12 months from date of registration subject to terms and conditions available upon request.
Under this Additional Warranty, the Dealer is obliged to repair components which are DEFECTIVE due to manufacturing defects by replacing them with genuine Fiat Professional spare parts or reconditioned Fiat Professional parts free of charge.
Etc, etc, etc,.......................

That is because your Fiat chassis was supplied in the UK, my post #9 explains it.

I can't find the thread but a Funster had a problem with his MH which was out of warranty, 3 months I think. I suggested he phone up Fiat customer care and they stumped up for the repair. (£600 to £700). It helps if you get the vehicle serviced at a Fiat Professional garage.

My local Fiat Professional dealer service manager talked me out of buying the Fiat extended warranty. Apparently I would be better off putting the money into a savings account and paying for the out-of-warranty repairs myself, if the need arises.

Meanwhile my 2017 PVC only has a 2 year base vehicle warranty from Fiat. Mustn't grumble I suppose.

No wasn't that one, it was about 2 weeks ago I think it related to a starter solenoid. Funsters were heading off and I think managed to get to Canterbury. They got a result anyway!

Key point is you don't have to leave trying to get Fiat to stump up to the dealer, you can phone yourself. Details below:-

Fiat Ducato Motorhome Customer Service can be reached by calling the dedicated
Freephone Number 00 800 342 811 11* or downloading the FIAT Ducato CAMPER application available for free on and .
