in motor vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of more than 3.5 t: a warning triangle and a warning light separately. A portable flashing light may also be carried as a warning light in accordance with section 53b (5) sentence 7;

I cannot find any provenance for this does anyone know of a requirement??

Ah thats why we were supplied with a big rather heavy yellow flash lantern with its own built in stand! it was in a box inside the garage of our new Carthago (batteries were included) It was so big and cumbersome I took it out, hell knows where I put it though.
It must have always been a requirement in Germany maybe, but I didn't get a warning triangle to go with it, wonder why?

I also understand that you have to have wheel chocks 1 or 2 depending on weight. I have 2 included in my box of goodies and wondered why. Lenny HB dont get tearful just think how much more I had to pay for my Morelo to get a German road legal MH :giggle:

Certainly didn't get one with my Dethleff Alpa when purchased in Germany last year.

Saw this on Amazon which would comply I think and only £6.51 with free delivery on Prime.

Interestingly, the UK highway code says NOT to put warning triangle behind vehicle on motorway.

It may have changed since I was last in Germany, but as far as I am aware it is a legal requirement to carry a yellow vest ( for each occupant), a first-aid kit and a warning triangle. Don't think an amber flashing light is a legal need , but I have seen them in use alongside the breakdown triangle.
As far as I remember chocks are required for a trailer over 750kgs and for any vehicle over 4000kgs.
Incidentally, you also need to carry in the vehicle your id (passport) driving licence, registration cert., and proof of insurance.
Hope this helps
Ron

A vehicle over 3500 kg must use wheel chocks when parked on a slope.
A least I got a pair of decent wheel chocks with my cheap Hymer. :giggle:

Daft question, but I do go to Germany a few times a year and now just bought a new to me Adria Sonic which is my first truck over 3.5 ton (4250kg) this flashing light, is it only to be used in the dark and where should it be positioned?
