After the last Warners show this year, I’ve been talking to Warners about their 2023 events.
I had a moan about the distance from the showground at a couple of events. We discussed that in recent years when we used to have the marquee it was prudent of them to park us a little out of the way. But now, with no marquee we can be nearer. I’ve said we're happy with all the rally field locations apart from Newbury and Lincoln where recently we have been at the back of beyond. They’ve promised that at both those shows we will be much closer to the show.
We have decided to have our tea tent back in the trade area. Several people told us this year that they appreciated the refreshments more when they were part of the show. We can see that is true, the number of coffees served and biscuits eaten is less than half of those served on the showground. Even with the strict “No Badge No Brew” sign. While being on the showground is more work for me and Siân and we have to adhere to the show opening and closing times, it’s only a few weekends a year so no real hardship. Though bring your own tea and biccys for Lincoln next year as we’ll be in France for the Rugby World Cup!
Book Early to avoid disappointment
This is not a sales ploy. We always reach our allocated numbers quickly and I invariably negotiate some more space. I will not be doing this next year. When we are full we are full. Our Rally marshals work hard at the shows, and when the numbers are high, it’s too hard. So don’t leave booking too late or you might not get to be parked with us.
