I see that Warners have published there shows for 2021 and the price has gone to £60 before discount, but £70 for Stoneleigh , I think that's a bit much after the last few Stoneleigh shows , might give that one a miss

I think a lot of established motorhomers will, but with staycations etc these may be replaced by new or potential new owners.

On the Warners web site they are quoting an initial price of £80 for Stoneleigh, there is then a £10
discount for prebooking. It appears they are trying to make up for lost revenue from this year.

I think by next year we will be all desperate to go anywhere and as Jim says they are still very good value for money.

Went to Stoneleigh last year & thought it was outstanding value for money with the standard of live acts which would have cost much more to see elsewhere. The stalls were all the regular ones but did enjoy the roving singer in the food area which created a good atmosphere. As with all Showground based events the toilets & showers were a bit rough & ready but Fun had the best location in our own grassy paddock enclosure just a short walk from all the attractions. There's an excellent Farmers Fayre farm shop & restaurant there which was a good treat too & the bus to Leamington Spa at a small extra cost was very handy. For next year they have even more acts with two evening entertainment venues so whilst it is a big price jump it still offers great value in our opinion. Add to that all the extra measures that are likely to have to be in place, the losses there must have been this year & the huge demand for camping expected next year think price increases are inevitable for all such events.

Once I have the vaccine in my veins, twice, then I will thumb through the Warners list when and where they fit in with any overseas excursions.

Warner’s are dead. Shows won’t be the same or happen for a long time. If I am honest as a dealers point of view, they are a Motorhomers weekend away now and getting less and less viable. NEC now you spend 15k to put sales people on stands to end up in a price war against other dealers. You then have £1000 a sales person for hotels etc. Plus booze food etc etc.....
MMM this month is about as thick as the local Chinese menu...

I have a letter from Warners honouring my booking for Malvern this year, carried over to next year at the same price

The motorhome shows are nothing compared to the good old days, which were HUGE. But they do still work financially for dealers, as they shift all their stock in a weekend. Then the accessory stalls like sea flo who make £50k for a weekend every show. Big money to be made still but the shows must evolve or die

Which shows? Please let me know!

I would love to say dealers and accessory companies do that well.... they don’t....
Have you sat and watched the footfall at the various accessory companies and displays of vehicles? I admit to seeing a few dealers get it wrong and sell very few vans. Mostly down to disinterested salesmen, not keen to strike a deal. Have spoken to many attending the show who say they were smitten by X van at the show, but too hard to get a deal so bought elsewhere. An enthusiastic dealer with good stock and workforce will do really well

As for sea flo, who I used as an example, every day of the show packed with people buying large quantities of stock. Even queueing to get into their marquee and salesmen constantly busy taking sales. By the end of each day the stock has gone down so much that they restock from another van from base. More than once I have requested a part that they have not got at the show, always there the next morning sent out on the restocking run. I have spoken to a member of staff I know who confirmed the weekend takings

Unfortunately that simply isn’t the case. You lay Warner’s £25000 for a pitch big enough then pay another 10k for hotels and food etc, then fuel, drivers etc etc.
You then get loads of potential customers saying dealer a,b and c are all 4K cheaper that you so will you match it. Before you know it your making 2-3 k a van but then have to prep, pay for a warranty, valet, pay commission etc etc. They simply are not worth it.
Next year I will chuck a load of money at fun, Facebook and do a load of open weekends. I could hire the campsite next door for the weekend, put all of you up, put food and entertainment and get you all pissed, sell a few vans back at base which is always easier and all of this for a fraction of the cost!

Now that sounds a good plan Simon, sounds like Warners are pricing themselves out of business

You will have an invite when I do! I decide who I like on fun by the simple question based on posts. The question being... “Would I have a beer with them in my personal time?” 😂

Have got our tickets for Peterborough but I think that will be the only one we attend

I will get something sorted for next year!! Let’s just hope all the norf’eners turn up with Stella and not Boddingtons, John Smiths or Special Brew....
In the south which is where the good people live, we drink Stella or Peroni.

that’s the way I run my business, If I didn’t like them , I wouldn’t work for them , your gut instinct was nearly always right
