We hope to travel down from Eauze (France ) to Spain for Christmas. Last January we stayed on a beach site at Torre del mar but felt a bit packed in . Somewhere with a bit more space but not too far from the action. Any ideas please.

We've tried a few beachy sites from bene to Malaga and they were all tightly packed. A bit away from the action are a tad less squashed

I think most sites will be packed in the winter around the costa del sol.

It starts filling up around October.

We dont over winter but Los Madrillas in Isla Plana might suit

Peaceful, quiet and mercifully free from all the coast-huggers who cannot conceive that there is anything more than 50 metres from a beach in Spain. Honestly, there are the most wonderful villages and towns away from the coastal frenzy.

Yes, Spain isn't like a polo mint! There is a middle part too, and very, very beautiful.

Yes I agree completely. We tried to get in quite a few sites for 2 January's on the run. The few we managed were crammed. Sorry I can't remember names but we found sone really nice sites away from the coast. 10 to 15 km not far really. We used the satnav poi,s and acsi book.
