Anyone got any ideas?

There seems to be very few 4Gb RAM capable laptops, and just as few 19" screens!

No ideas for actual models but you may find that some are capable of having their RAM upgraded to 4GB or more if they come as less with standard.

Best so far:-

This HP at Play.com

2 of them gonna cost about 2.6K :cry::cry:

Most Laptop motherboards will only support 2gb of Ram unfortunately, barely sufficient for VISTA use....

If only I knew ANYTHING about MACs....

I suppose it depends what you use it for.

I have an Acer Aspire 5612ZWLMi which has "only" 1GB DDR2 memory - see Link Removed for full spec. I've had it about a year now so not surprised to find they are sold out. I bought it from Comet so I guess that THIS ONE is probably today's equivalent.

Obviously the screen is smaller than you are looking for but it does me OK for surfing, e-mails, photos and normal office stuff.

Even used it to reload our ECWS regimental web site whilst we were at Abbey Wood 3 weeks ago  Took a while but there are quite a few photos.

Hi everyone.

Papa,
Even though I am currently an HGV Class 1 driver I am also a qualified PC Technician, Laptop & Electronic Servicing Engineer.

My 1st question to you, is what the hell are you going to do with this Laptop?

Why do you think you need 4GB of Ram?

Apple Macs are superb pieces of kit.
If you can afford one & are willing to learn how to use one, you'll never look at another PC again.

All your do is laugh at all the people with problems on their PC's, :ROFLMAO:

Best Wishes,

I've never really understood the need to carry a huge monitor around with me. I prefer a smaller laptop with a larger external monitor however we're all different so my recommendation is the Dell M2010. I saw a demo of this at Dells headquarters a few weeks ago and my jaw hit the floor.
It's a 20.1" monitor, dual core processor AND 4gb of memory for a very creditable £1600.

Quite stupendous.

Regards
Doug
