Might be worth having a word with your calor retailer as they sometimes take a 'Not like for Like' in empty cylinders. I managed to trade in a blue(butane) 7kg for a Red(propane) 6kg at a local dealership last year,
Tried our local recycling centre first but got the Jobsworth reply!

I've got an empty red 13Kg Calor propane bottle and I'm about an hour's drive from Preston. Nothing wrong with it, just redundant after we fitted the Gaslow.

Yours for a fiver if you can collect.

Thank you what area do you live in

If you'd like the gas bottle you can e-mail me via the Contact page on the first link in my signature below. I'm happy to take it to the nearest M6 service area to my home, North or Southbound.

try your local council re cycling site .. or a boot sale..

I was looking in same area about 12 months back. No joy at council tips. All cctv so lads couldn't let me have one.
Still worth a try though.
I swapped 6kg for 13kg at local supplier.

Depends on the agent, some will some won't.
I just exchanged a green calor patio gas for a regular red 13kg propane at the local farmers store.

I think it depends on the retailer. Like I said I swapped 6 for 13. Was told 6kg were in short supply at the time.

I need to swap one of our 13kg for a 6kg. This MH won't quite fit the 2 big ones.

Go outdoors said they are the same group providing we dont want the Lite version.

We are in Bradford and welcome all funsters to come along and swap whatever cylinder they have for what they want
I can ensure no funsters pay the Calor deposit if no cylinder for exchange. Have a search for my username in Google.
Don't want to blatantly advertise!

Anybody have a LITE, keep hold of it as that is one cylinder most Calor agents will NOT swap about due to different deposits, or cylinder rental agreement, as Calor call it, any many agents, main and dealers are short of them after the re call.

Personally don't use lights as the actual weight difference is minimal,
and I get loads o folk bringing back half full cylinders, I have not paid for gas for over 20 years, just take a couple o less bottle of vino with you.

But there again, no, beer, & vino more important

I have a 13kg Calor, but would I let it go to a "Blue" !!

Only joking - if your interested only a half mile from M60 at the Trafford Centre exit.
Think there's quite a bit of gas in it

Always try to use propane in a MH as Butane, Butano, will not gas off below 4deg C, by gas off I mean the liquid will NOT turn to gas.

Why change regulators for the winter, just use propane all year.

The BTU of butane against propane you would need a scientific instrument to measure.

Wanted 13kg Calor bottles in the Preston area if possible (y)

Sorry Bluemooner, but I can't make our agreed gas bottle handover on Monday. Check your e-mail for reason - hope you see it (or this) in time.
