Quick bump and if no one has one by tomorrow I will grab one off of fleabay ..
With the 290 aH of battery I know have I reckon a minimum of 300w worth of solar panels is needed to get the best from them ( and yes, we are heavy elekrickery users ! )

300watts of solar will be a great bank of panels.. Remember when looking a decent MPPT regulator (Victron make a good one(y)) will make all the difference. A individual regulator per panel will give the most efficiency back..

looks good(y)(y)..

The only main reason why I would install 3 regulators is simply because there will be no risk of your panels not charging when a certain amount of the panels are possibly shaded..

If I cover one panel I still have 200 watt working. I find shade on one panel affects that panel not all three

They also do a 200 watt unit at a bit less wonga but you will get about £16 import charges from parcelfarce with either.

I always check the contents of regulators. You'd be surprised how little there is in many despite a nice looking outer skin

If you use a Votronic MPPT regulator/controller it will run your AES Fridge for you on 12volts, especially with 300 watts of solar and a good battery bank you should get a good few hours a day.

You can also plug a Votronic solar computer straight into the controller and it will log your power genation, we have had about 15000 ah in the two years since I fitted the new panels and Votronic bits.

I bought a very posh ( read bloody expensive at £200 plus ! ) controller last year.. Digital scolling read out of :
Battery type ( auto detects )

Current voltage
Current current ( drawn and or going in )
Plus some other stuff which I cannot remember off the top of my head.
The only downside is the language used is in Spanish.. Or one or two other really obscure choices !!

But as numbers are universal and are the important things, that is not really much of an issue :)

You could try bimblesolar.com they have used 120watt 12volt panels for £55.00 (bank transfer) plus carriage.
Just had a look and they are Poly panels, not mono ones..
Always cheaper, but that said they do seem to be very well priced indeed Link Removed

What's the difference between poly and mono?
in use not alot . i still use a pwm reg they work are cheap and why spend a fortune if you dont have to.
first i had mono then the second lot were poly . never noticed any difference . now i have 6 indian made bp 80wt panels . pwm reg and have enough power all winter abroad.
think many spend far more than they need to.
i use a 24v to 12v battery to battery charger by durite when on the move . bought that about 8 yrs ago .
Broken Link Removed if i was buying today these look ok.
but not mono.

its just a pos to pos then pos to regulator same on the neg . some come with fancy connectors we use junction boxes . you might need a gland nut fixing through the van . http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xgland nuts &_nkw=gland nuts &_sacat=0
similar to this . this is for viewing only .
