Hi a quick question we have a 907 camping gaz cylinder in our Bilbos but I tried an old 3.9kg propane cylinder to see if would fit being cheaper to fill and last longer.
Well it fits but is there a way to connect it to the truma regulator ?
Also if that can be done would like to run a gas connection outside to run our cadac but not one that means drilling holes in the vans exterior. This then avoids having to carry two gas cylinders.

You will need to change the pigtails ie the rubber pipe from the bottle to the regulator, for a propane one.

Thanks, didn’t think it would be as simple as that?

There are ways of connecting a longer gas pipe to connect a Cadac but I would not like to comment on the safety aspects of this.
A bottle top regulator would be needed and obviously pipe to reach the Cadac which would need to be trailed through a window or door, possibly not the safest.

Going to get prices, do not want bullfinch type just a connection maybe near the sill on our van

You could 'T' in a second pipe and run it down through one of the bottom vent holes to a connector under the van, then just plug in a pipe to your Cadac.

fixing an external gas point is really simple. i know you said you dont want to drill a hole in the van so is there a locker you could fix it in? one thing to bear in mind, is where will you be using the cadac. do you want to use it near the hab door or rear of the van etc? once you have decided that then you can look for a suitable location for the connection to be sited.

i would simply bite the bullet and drill a hole through the van wall ....... it looks a lot neater !

Ps, why not the bullfinch type? i prefer the bullfinch type to the truma, but thats only personal preference they both do what they are supposed to do !!

We have a Gaslow bottle with a 907 as an emergency supply.
To connect a 907 to a Post 2002 Reg. (the one that's bolted onto the 'van) you need one of these.

and connect it and the 907 to the Reg. using this.

The above is a standard Butane Pigtail.

If anyone wants a 907 I have a few that are available post Lockdown. (Shameless Plug!)

It’s a vw t5 Bilbo so do not want to drill into side of van that’s I thought about mounting one underneath, don’t know if that is possible, we have no lockers as such just the gas locker but assumed the T piece would be after fitting a new tap on the gas manifold?
