Am on a unscheduled holiday in France arrived by ferry yesterday morning and came down to Gace (cant get an accent on the e) in Southern Normandy for my first Aires stop - delightful spot in centre of the town next to the restored Châteaux (clocks stop chiming at 10pm) One other motorhome there Brits returning from a wet rainy winter in Portugal. Wandered around the town last night balmy spring evening, then woke this morning to SNOW! Headed south this morning to below Le Mans to another Aire at Vass in the Loire region. Used the motorway from Calais to Abbeville only 12 euros and so quick. Then the A28 (free) Anyone heading through Rouen beware the 2nd tunnel is shut for repairs! South of Rouen it was onto the D338 which is a brilliant A road.
Heading towards the Charente for the weekend (was supposed to be in the north watching cycling but too cold up there)
Sun is out so good to be away.
