In October we have booked 3 sites in West and South Wales, all on the coast in 2 weeks time. With more of the south in LOCKDOWN we are not sure whether to postpone or not. We would be respectful of all the rules but with suggestions by Welsh minister that travel should essential, although all of the 3 sites say they will be busy in October we are not sure what to do. Has anyone booked sites in Wales for October and if so are you still going? Any funsters from Wales, appreciate your thoughts whether we should cross the border or not. Cheers Smudger55

Have two sites booked for the 1st week of November south east wales and then north west . If the close any more regions it’s going to make route planning interesting

Cardiff swansea and llanelli are in lookdown from 6pm sunday till god knows when

Not booked anything but supposed to be going to Mid to North Wales in the October holiday.

Will decide nearer the time to go or try somewhere else.

Unless there is a total lockdown we will be going somewhere.

Certain wards in Llanelli are affected, not the whole town from what we gather from Welsh news.

West Wales, just respect the 2metre rule , face masks, no buying alcohol after 10 etc and all is good. There is not any bans of driving though the areas, loads of vans travelling west tonight in the M4, as I headed east.

We are supposed to be going to Fresh Water then onto Pembrey mid November but not holding my breath, Not worried about going if they are still open as we spend most of our time out walking on our own (well with another couple who we travel with on a regular basis to be more exact) and both sites are C&MC and there procedures are pretty much contactless at most sites (last time we went to Pembrey they actually rang us the night before and gave us the option of paying then or on arrival by phone).

We were going to Pembrey via Tredegar House this weekend.....but were advised a couple of days ago that the Tredegar House site closed on 22nd September, and now, with Llanelli going into lockdown shortly it has put the kybosh on that...........so, we’re off to sunny Sussex instead........!

Bizarrely my mate in Bolton in lockdown can travel to any part of Wales and stay at a campsite but we can’t as we live in Wales in a lockdown area with less Covid than Bolton but are banned from leaving the county boundaries unless we have a reasonable excuse.......

If he’s in Bolton and in lockdown he can’t travel the same as the rest of us in Wales under lock down.

We had a booking at Gowerton C&MC site, near Swansea, in October. We have received an e-mail telling us that the site has been closed because of CV-19 restrictions.

We live in the Vale of Glamorgan which will be subject to similar restrictions from tomorrow. The situation throughout South Wales is not good for travel at the moment.

Nope booked in West Wales cancelled.
Also have a booking in Bargoed farm and I have a feeling that will be cancelled as well.

The whole of the south coast from Newport To Llanelli will be in lockdown tomorrow but from Bury Port westwards is ok at the moment.

We have now cancelled our Wales trip, hopefully try again next year.

However if you need a valid reason book a house viewing as if your a buying a property you can still travel unlikely the sites will allow your to stay though cant book Pembrey if your postcode is in lockdown the computer says NO
But if you live in lockdown area where the site is you can stay

Just booked a few days at Prestatyn Haven site (not our usual type of place but it's for a special occasion) for next week. Had quite a bit of difficulty getting a pitch, apparently very busy.

Restrictions only apply to people living in wales not visitors

that’s a shame, you could have tried Pembrokeshire, the rates there are low and it’s extremely unlikely to go into lockdown any time soon, the county needs as much tourism income as possible to make up early season losses

Our understanding is that if an area is in lockdown you can’t enter or leave without a reasonable excuse that is travelling to work or compassionate reasons ie looking after a vulnerable person. You are free to travel anywhere within the lockdown but not outside and no one can enter that doesn’t reside in the area.

You might well be right on reading gov site

My understanding is if you live outside a lockdown area you can travel through without stopping so if coming along the M4 you can go to west wales passed Llanlli

To be quite honest - Pembrokeshire is the only part of Wales I would visit, Covid or not.

Hope that's the case. we're heading down to Old Oaks at Glastonbury then along to Vanbitz at Taunton. It would certainly save going the long way via Worcester

We were in Freshwater last week and the warden told us the site closed at the end of October. She also told us the Tredegar House site was already closed because of Covid and that they could also close at any time too, and to keep checking if we wanted to re book!

Gowerton also closed because of Covid
