Hi.
Who remembers the Welsh tourist boards advert of the two blokes talking. First bloke " Where's Dai ? second bloke. " He has gone abroad on holiday......" First bloke again. " Why..." The camera then pans around and what looks like Cardigan bay comes into view. (y)(y) ............. Priceless.

I once went out with a Welsh girl who kept saying "press that in" - or maybe it was prestatyn. . .

The Llyn was very busy a week ago and the weather was not good.

Everyone coming along the south Wales motorway route turns left and rams up Tenby and Saundersfoot coast - and long may it continue!!
Don't tell everyone but turning right gives you peace and quiet to enjoy the beauty of St.Davids, Solva, Newgale, Whitesands, Little and Broad Havens. Fishguard, the whole of the North Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire panaramic scenery coast with 160 miles of empty small beaches and cliff scenery! Absoutely Magic!! SSSH!!

I'd just like to say that we, together with our son's and daughter's families will be going down to Pembrokeshire at the end of the week. The weather is forecast to be wet with gales blowing at the weekend. But we'll still be visiting all the places gerrycwmbran has listed!!!

It’s not a patch on South Pembrokeshire though.

I admit bias

Yes, we'll be going South as well. Tea and cakes at "Aunties", (Ye Olde Worlde Cafe), after being blown around on the cliffs.

We’re off to the Lyn at the beginning of September and hope that, by then, with schools returning etc., things will have calmed down a bit.Can anyone recommend campsite venues to use as a base for that area?

There is a nice pub there too but we didn’t visit this year.

i suspect it will be very, very busy given it’s proximity to Broad Haven Beach and the lily ponds.

Don't be ridiculous - motorhomers don't spend money, they just tell everyone they do in the hope that they'll get free camping 🙂
Spot on! It always makes me giggle when people deluded themselves into to thinking they are supporting anything other than a massive conglomerateS by spending a few quid at McDonalds, Tesco or even the nearest petrol station.
It’s actually quite hard to support a truly local economy most money is siphoned off elsewhere.

Probably the most direct contribution we can make is to council run car parks, and genuinely local businesses etc.

i live in Wales, it is definitely not empty. I think it’s fair to say that Pembrokeshire is fully Booked , and the lack of concern by many people regarding Lack of masks, social distancing etc, is a real concern for a lot of locals. Also, while I know that the main business is tourism around here, several business are complaining about the way their staff and their property are being abused recently. Rude, selfish, impatient, inconsiderate are a few descriptions. Also tables and chairs being damaged, charity boxes being stolen ... need I go on.!
i know it’s the minority that are responsible for this ..... but Wales is definitely not empty x

That’s the trouble I think. Some of the riff raff who would normally go to the Costas are visiting Wales, Cornwall etc and bringing their bad manners with them.

Not visitors. That'll be the riff raff from the valleys who normally depart Cardiff for Tossa Del Mar but are in Tenby instead. You know the ones, big arms, big beer bellies, homemade tattoos, and steroid tracks. The blokes are just as bad :D

So it should be!! Pembroke council are doing their best to stop us parking anywhere except campsites, we will be taking our money elsewhere, I hope others do the same.
