Hi Jim, I see your issue was a few years ago so hopefully all resolved!!!! Just wondering if any of you could help me? I noticed when the pump is on water pours out of the side of my van that says whale on it. This is obviously coming from the heating, but would also empty my tank in no time! What do you think I should do? KR Nicola
I think you need to close the drain valve on the heater box which is inside the van.
On mine its a yellow handle. It's usually opened in the winter to drain all the water out-of the boiler to prevent it freezing up and splitting .if it's still open it will empty the system when the pump is on.

Why has nobody commented on the idea of a quick easy permanent solution suggested earlier...fit an expansion vessel the dump valve will be redundant except in an extreme overheat situation(boiling)
