Our 2001 Niesmann Bischoff Clou has a factory-fitted reversing camera cable terminated in a 6-pin mini-Din locking plug, which I learned means it's a Dometic Waeco cable.

It has 4 cores, one of which is shielded.

I'd like to fit twin reversing cameras, and I understand that current Dometic Waeco cables can handle two video signals.

Does anyone know whether ours would, or whether they changed the wiring for this?

TIA

John

Lenny HB Yours is a Hymer B678, so 2017-on?

I read in a couple of places that current Waeco leads can handle twin cameras although maybe that's only switching with their own cameras.

Not sure what you mean twin feeds, my waeco system has twin cameras, one facing back so we can see following traffic, and one facing down for reversing. I can switch between both via the waeco dash top screen.
Is this what you mean?
My van is B544 2012. But I installed the camera system myself, the cable was pre-installed by Hymer.

The Dometic twin camera's use a single cable (6 pin mini DIN) with a splitter box at the monitor end

Thanks all.

Got a reply from Dometic that my cable is incompatible with later cables which can carry two video feeds, as Eddie and BusyBuilder say.

I presume the cores are separately shielded to prevent crosstalk.

Mine predates that so no dice. I'll either need a new cable or a remote video switch at the camera end.

Cheaper to put a couple of new cables in.
It cost me £25 for new cables the adaptors for the Waco were £20 each so would have been £80 in my case.
