VW T6 with a scooter rack

Newish VW T6 camper has just rocked up on site (Tarifa S Spain) with a Vespa scooter mounted on a rack at the back. Cannot get my head around why you would need to carry a scooter on such a small vehicle. Takes alsorts I suppose.

They will probably put up an awning and a camping kitchen shortly. Its also nice tootling around on a bike in the sunshine

Wondering as you do what the rear axle loading is

Wonder if he’s even aware of the loading. Hopefully he’ll have had the rear updated, as I’ve no idea what the load rating must be

Can’t see a problem with carrying a scoot.

Think a T6 is around 3200kg upwards in total load rating.

T32 (3200kg) is the largest they do. Hanging a scooter way off the back is going to transfer a lot weight to the rear axle.

Here ya go PP, scooter obviously dismounted so can’t show the rack as they have reversed it up against the wall.

The scooter must be 125kg at least. Nice set up if it all works for them. Thanks for posting the pictures
