Can't understand why the driveshaft is being replaced, it has nothing whatsoever to do with the clutch or flywheel.
The OP also had the shaft replaced with no explanation..

Oh, and the thread is 3 years old.

I’m sorry you had the same problem as me but with a slight higher mileage.
I argued with VW that this was a known fault it was also a fault on the Audi A1 and also on the Skoda but VW would not acknowledge the fact.
VW trained mechanics were instructed not to inform the general public of the fact.
The duel mass flywheels on all three models were made in Hungary and were all identical.
My argument was why did they make a conversion to a single mass flywheel if it was not a manufacturing fault in the first place.
Not long after I traded my VW Polo in for a Hyundai.
I will never buy a VW again and I alway voice my views whenever I come into contact with VW dealerships.
