My set up is 350w solar (supplying 300w). 2x 110 eco tree lithium. Victron B to B charger and smartshunt.
A couple of times lately I have glanced at the smartshunt Bluetooth display and there has been no input from the solar.
On investigation I can hear a constant clicking from the mppt.
If I remove the 30amp fitted fuse and re insert it all is well.
The unit is only 6 months old.
My thought is the unit is faulty and will need replacing but I am open to any advice.
Thanks
Graham

Anyone else had this problem ?
In a word "yes", our van came with Buttner PWM (controllers which are made by Votronic) I wasn't too impressed with them being PWM so changed to Votronic MPPT as they were the same footprint and terminal layout it was a very straight swap. A few times I noticed as you have that the one or both controllers were not outputting, this was usually first thing in the morning when they should have been waking up, I would disconnect and then reconnect in the correct order and they would be good for the rest of the day just to do the same again the next or another morning and yes they were ticking.

Cutting a long story short I chewed on with them for months before they were returned to Votronic to be checked and of course they said that they were fine, refitted and exactly the same so went back to the Buttner which worked fine before eventually 12v Planet who I bought from refunded them and I bought Victron which has never put a Volt wrong.

Interestingly I was in our dealer a few weeks ago and he knew I had had the issue so he asked if they were ticking as they had a van with the same issue.

I was hoping yours was a one off Martin. When we get the new van I am going to fit lithium and was going to use a Votronic as I wanted the AES function. Looks like I might have to build my own device for operating the AES.

I remember you mentioning the Votronic was OK on some of the Lithium profiles just not the one that suited your batteries.
Can you remember which ones?

Hi Lenny

I only ran it on the one Lithium profile so not sure about others but I would imagine the problem would be the same, I had these controllers for years on the Flair and no problems at all, I don't know if it is just the MPP430 or all MPP that have a problem, I am not bothered about the AES feature to be honest but if I wanted to use power for the fridge I would just switch it manually.

I might go for the Victron and maybe use an interval timer so I don't flatteren my battery.

peterc10 how is your one going?
So far so good. 🤞 The impression I have is that I am getting more charge out the same panels now than I did with my previous MPPT charger. And the fridge was still getting a sneaky half hour on AES 12v in the sunshine last week.

Mine is the MPP350.
