Green with envy!

Ok Anna and Colin, you just had to post didn't you.

There we were coping with working full time temporarily to boost the finances so we can travel and then you let on that you are bumming around Europe to your hearts content. Humph. :winky:

Hopefully within the next year we'll have our new van and be heading for Morocco for next winter ... woo hoo! :ROFLMAO:

Do you keep a blog so we can follow your travels just to make us yearn?

Leigh and Phil (fulltiming for 4 years and currently in the midst of a miserable UK winter) :shout:

EDIT: Oops where are my manners, self misery aside .... a very warm welcome to MHfun and the forums :)

Hi Guys
Welcome to the Fun forum
Is that your RV on your avatar?
What a great looking rig
How big is it and how are you managing finding sites?

yes, shes a 1982 Vogue,36ft long, 6 wheeler.
we havent had to many problems finding sites, we tow a car, when we get near to the site we want to stay on we un-hitch the car drive in and take a look make sure there really is room for us, then in we go.
through out France we tried to get the site we were on at the time to phone the next site we wanted to go to and explain our size etc. it worked well,
we never used toll roads at all in France and stayed on municipal sites in small towns and villages,we only use aires occasionally as we do take up so much space.
now in Spain in the Costa del Sol we are travelling on the auto vistas and have not had a problem with sites.
we do not use a 'tom tom' but use a road atlas and auto route on the laptop for planning the route.

A Woosh bang
Hi Colin and Anna

A big welcome from us too >:)

We have been fulltimers since Aug 06, myself, wife Jan and daughter Charlotte age 7, in our 36ft GeorgieBoy.
Since setting out we have travelled in France, Spain and Morocco, at present in the UK but heading off to France this month.
Like yourselves we have no real plan or set destination except to Morocco again in Sep 08 with the Link Removed .. organised by Desert Detours. If you are interested please look at the site, there are still a couple of places available.
Perhaps our in our travels our paths will cross.. we will try to keep in contact via this and Link Removed sites.

Good luck, safe and happy travels..

Hi Colin & Anna

Good to read of another couple fulltiming in Europe in an RV.

Like you, we've been meandering down through France over summer, and are now wintering in southern Spain until the rest of Europe warms up. We plan to head into Portugal in late Feb, but no set agenda.

We went all round the Brittany peninsula in our 32' RV with a TOAD. We stayed at aires all the time, and never had any problems with access or our size. Like you, we don't use the peages - can't afford them! Anyway, it's interesting driving through picturesque French towns (very slowly!).

We are in Conil de la Frontera on the Atlantic coast of Spain, just south of Cadiz. We much prefer the so-called Costa del Luz to the other costas we've visited in Spain.

PM us if you want us to check for pitch availability here. It's getting pretty busy now, but you may get in. It's worth a try - it's a great area.

If not, maybe we'll come across each other later in Portugal.

Happy trails

Bruce & Marion
