I guess you mean you have no Vodafone 4G reception? We do, better than EE, 3 or O2

We find three to be the best, I have 6 gb a month with Vodafone and they tell me it is never used,
That’s because it don’t work.

But we also buy a three sim that works in most places.

I tried 3 for a month, but they seemed to 'throttle' the bandwidth when using as a hotspot for multiple devices, whereas a one month trial on Vodafone did not. If the 3 network is good for you you should look at Smarty, which uses the 3 network and offers unlimited data for £25 per month

I didn't see that one thanks. The issue for me though would be the 30Gb personal hotspot, I want to use all my data when tethering.

I use mine to stream tv at about 1gb an hour when at static park home. Never had an issue so far although I haven't actually checked total data used so unsure if I hit the barrier?
Edit checked and hotspot only used 15gb this month as we haven't been here much this month. When at home/work always connected to wifi.

They've just given me 100Gb free for a month "as a loyal customer". I've only been with them 18 months.

We only have mobile broadband with Three, 100gb a month, and it's virtually all used via hotspot with no problem so not sure where you're getting the info about the 30gb restriction?

@Minxy Girl look at the data plan conditions #10 above
Ah, my new varifocal glasses strike again!

I looked on the Three website info for it rather than on the 'screen shot' ... interesting though as we don't have this problem with our 100gb one so maybe they've brought it in on the unlimited one which came out just after we'd got our 100gb one for £20 a month with no limit on hotspotting.

Hopefully I'll get used to the new bl**dy glasses soon! o_O

We probably have the same deal, used about 70gb this month with a few days to go. Mostly streaming TV with no problems

Perhaps someone can clear up a worry of mine then....

These SIMs are phone ones aren't they? If so, what happens if I put it in my mifi? Will they cut me off?

The reason for asking is that the mobile data SIMS are no where near as cheap, and would like to avoid ending up with a phone SIM I dont need :):):)

What do you think?

I asked 3 and they said it is ok. If it is your mifi no calls or texts.

That's interesting, I was always under the impression the mifi had to use a data only SIM and a phone one wouldn't work ?

My first try with Three fell foul of this. I bought a PAYG phone sim by mistake and put it in the MiFi. After a few days they started sending me texts telling me to put it in a phone. :) Subsequently, they disabled it. :(

But this was a few years ago and things may be different now. However, be wary of what sales people tell you, most have no knowledge of even what a MiFi is. :)

im a not so newbie
Ive just gone onto three as EE/BT reception in our house was dire.

When I contacted BT for my pac code they offered me 100gb for £20 but id already made my mind up I was moving.

Ive used three in the past with mifi and found them very helpful if you have a query.

Just signed up for the Vodafone deal - looks pretty good - will pop it in my motorhomewifi 4G Box
Would be really interested to see if you have any issues, seeing as it's not in a phone, and I'd like to do the same...

I put some posts on the forum previously but obviously if you don't know they're there you won't know to go look for them! :D

Three dropped the restriction of only being able to use phone sims in phones back in April last year, since then you can use them in whatever you wish with no problem - we have a 100gb Three sim in hubby's phone but did use it in a MIFI until his previous contract ran out the same month (no point in 'loosing data we've paid for!), no problems whatsoever.

Oh, you can still use a phone sim for texts even in a MIFI as your MIFI's control panel should have this facility as that's how they send you messages.
