Good evening funsters where of to cornwall for ten days not sure where to go or what to see would really appreciate any recommendations i don't walk to well so need to stop fairly close by to any destinations we do use push bikes but have been told there are plenty of hills so not ideal. where going to see the golden hind and also the eden project but that still leaves 8 more days help.

the tin mine near lands end was good but did involve some walking and stairs

Minac theatre is good. Sone steps down to it but a great view. Shows can be hit and miss but the view stunning.

Lands end is expensive for what it is but worth a trip if you've not been I suppose.

St Michaels mount or at least a vist to marizion which you get to it from is a nice trip out. Flat so you could cycle round a bit and theres a boat out to st Michael's.

Trip to scilly ? Bit pricey but was nice.

Been going for years (in a caravan) if I can help give me a shout

Tintagel, cheap aire (Car Park) that encourages motor homes right in the centre of town
Plus the new bridge is now open I believe. King Arthur I think and £4.00 for 24 hours

You can catch a small train from St Erth where there is a big carpark into St Ives too- apparently a very pretty but short journey, Mousehole is pretty-can sometimes park in laybys just outside or carparkbut think carpark has a height restriction.
St Michaels Mount at Marazion.
The cafe at Geevor has lovely views and nice food and has a big car park too

If you are National Trust members there are plenty of interesting properties to visit, some with transport from the carpark to the building for a donation of approx 50ppperson. I would avoid Castle Drogo if you have anything bigger than a VW camper!

If you like sitting looking at views, try Godrevy (NT again). [Close to St Ives.]

Charlestown (the harbour in Poldark) is interesting but on a bit of a hill. Parking isn't too bad and there are some nice little shops. [Clost to Eden Project.]

Looe has a large carpark by the Mill Pond with fairly flat walk into town and to the beach.

Crackington Haven has an interesting beach with big rocks (from memory) and parking was OK (from memory, which is failing!).

Enjoy - Gordon

We stayed on a CL overlooking the camel estuary and then cycled into Padstow along the Camel trail. We had a great few days there. There are several nice restaurants there and also in Port Issac. We found much of Cornwall inaccessible in our MH, as the roads can be VERY narrow, so take care.

A great big thank you for all your suggestions it’s good to hear from people who have been to these places as I’ve never been to Cornwall before. were looking forward to getting away from work for a few days although the weather does not look to good from Sunday on Thanks again for your help. :)(y)

Try to remember that in many parts of the country the road is bordered by low verges often with fences a metre or so away.

Other parts of the country have high hedges close to the road, so keeping an eye on your nearside mirrors help to reduce scratches.

In Cornwall many of the roads are edged by granite rocks, often with protruding parts. Sometimes these are hidden by a few thin layers of vegetation. Keep an eye on the road ahead and give yourself space to get into a gap if something else is approaching.

We stop here some times great pitches/views, quite, can walk/cycle to the the bus stop or Perranwell railway station (y)

Seems an odd question to me  I always go somewhere to see/do stuff that already appears interesting, rather than choose a destination and then find out what to see and do there.
However, Falmouth town centre and the various quays are worth a stroll/bike ride. River Fal boat trip is great with interesting views. Some nice caffs on the harbour side of Falmouth's main shopping road, Arwennack St.
Depending upon what interests you, the National Maritime museum, also in Falmouth is worth visiting.
The most Southerly point, The Lizard, has a large car park from which it's an easy and level bike ride of half a mile max to Lizard Point and the lighthouse. Anne's scrumptious pasties, made at the back of her house, is well signposted.
Tip: If you fancy a crab sandwich make your own. When I was living near Falmouth 5 years ago a girlfriend who had worked in several caffs told me that they all padded out their crab sandwiches with Shipphams Crab Paste.

Put a shout out if you need to know what the weather is actually like if you are aiming penzance way although it can vary within 4 or 5 miles ( unfortunately not got anywhere to offer a parking spot for the night) Porthleven is a little harbour but with some great eateries too. If you have any specific questions give me a shout and if i can help i will ?

I love the little harbour villages even though access is poor and too touristy, but also love the rugged north coast

A lot of the tows have very small roads, in the past we have used the trains a lot as they are cheap and often have good car parks. Par is very good if you want to visit St Ives. Same with Falmouth park outside and get the train in

Falmouth is definitely worth a visit, the Cafe on the pier serves amazing food.

Pendennis castle is well worth a visit with fantastic views over Falmouth across to St Mawes.

Porth Leven is a lovely harbour town with excellent cafes,"The Mussel Shoals" is a super one at the end of the Harbour.

If you go over to Roseland, Pay a visit to Porthcurnick Beach and treat yourself to Lunch at the "The Hidden Hut" http://www.hiddenhut.co.uk/opening-hours/ amazing street "Beach head" food you won't be disappointed.

If you are down by The Lizard, Kynance Cove is another beauty spot not to be missed.
Wherever you end up have a wonderful time, Cornwall is a magical place, I know I married a Falmouth girl.

Falmouth had a Park and Float service last year. I will try it if it’s working this year otherwise I park in the Quarry car park. Usually lots of room.

Agree about Castle Drogo, very narrow roads but they do have parking for motor homes if you get there. Castle Drogo was apparently the last castle built in England.

Photo shows Kynance Cove near Helston. Another NT property, nice cafe.

Park and float/ride only in the season May to October. Then becomes boat storage for winter.

I think we might need to visit several times to get to all these places. Roll on retirement then we’ll have all the time in the world. Thanks again for all your help (y)
