there is an aire just outside of the town, easy walking distance, but the downside is it's very popular so is often full,
we stayed a couple of days but that was october so out side the main holiday season,

Doubling up with the good advice re the aire at Annecy. over the road from the lake and flat walk of easy 10 mins to town.
I have heard that roc de chere has a place you stay if its full at the lake.
No idea on campsites as i am a tightfisted motorhomer !

I've been going there 6 years - June is usually quite busy so less chance of getting free Aires or lakeside positions.
Camping Nubliere is excellent at South end of lake (Lac'Bleau next door also good) and just a 10 min walk from Doussard which is a nice village with full facilities and a weekly market.

Lots of campsites all around the lake. Take the ACSI book for good prices, or stay on the aire as previously mentioned, no need to pre book in June
Very nice area.

The aire at Annecy is handy for walking into town but has quite steep narrow access road and gets full early in the day having said that we arrived after lunch and managed to jiggle our 8 metre van in.

Failing that,
and free : Free parking( no facilities) on east side of Lake drive through Synod towards Faverge prior to entering town in the right.
If you have bikes all the better as cycle piste quite close 25 m ride alongside lake and into town .. enjoy

We've stayed at a municipal site called Le Belvédère, (Rue de Semnoz). It's 10 mins walk to Centre Ville, but it's up on a hillside. Access with the MH is fine, as is the walk DOWN into town. However, it's a bit of a climb on the way UP! Well it was for a lazy git like me.
There is a bus from the town centre which stops right outside the site, but you have to ask to be put off there.

There is a terrace bar area that does bar food. Nice to sit out and have a drink there. View of the lake if you get the right pitch.

It's not a top class site, but it's not the pits either. We stayed for 3 days. Google the name above and take a look. Click on the union flag icon if you want the ingrish version.

Hope that helps as another place to add to those who have posted above.

We stayed on this Municipal site too. Terraced level pitches on hardstanding. Good heated facilities.
After dark you will need torches for the uphill walk back to the site on the footpath from the old town.

Such a convenient location.

These are right on the Lake but if you go on their website there is a plan of the camping and you can see there.

What was your verdict on this site?
Did you manage to see any other sites or Aires nearby?
We may visit next year, so just planning at this stage.
Thanks!

Evening!

We stay at Camping International de Lac Bleu almost every year. Thats the one in Doussard at the southern end of the Lake. Love it, really great site and direct beach/lake access Free of charge for non motorised craft. Our Grandchildren 5 and 8 love it.

The Aire near the town of Annecy is very small, very handy and most of all, very difficult to get a place. Most people abuse it and overstay. Especially in Winter.

Anything you want to know about Annecy, please ask. I know it quite well.

Indeed, scarily, we were less than 1kM from the Annecy murders just two weeks before on our bikes with our then, 3 year old Grandson.
